They can't maintain a brand on only one model.
Corvette has it's own factory and brand - just like Alpine. They sell c.35,000 cars a year in manual, automatic, coupe, convertible and high performance variants of the same car.The situations are very similar with a smaller, single product company under the umbrella of a larger corporation - previously "Chevrolet Corvette" and "Renault Alpine".
At the end of the day it's all about product. Offer people what they want and they will buy it.

Is that a good watch?
Does it tell the time better than my Timex?
a 250 GTO is ok, but a Tesla is faster.Does it tell the time better than my Timex?
and a Rolex is an entry level premium watch, a bit Mercedes
Anything else is just to show off to other men... Ewww... loool.. No thanks...
No girl I know will like a Langhorn (or whatever over a Rolly'....
So call the Rolly' entry level all you want but like I said, it gets you entry to all the best clubs.. bar none!!!
By the way, I would take any car with a GTO name tag over any Tesla.... just suits my personality and style more...

There's a club in this town, Paul, called the Pussy Club. I have a gold card.
I walk up to the door and, ''Swiss Toni, come on in.''
I've even got a backstage pass.

When are they axing the car?
They aren’t it’s all speculation at this point. Until they announce it, if they ever do, it will remain that, speculation. https://jalopnik.com/the-alpine-a110-is-awesome-bu...

Ah ok thanks. Is it under consideration because the handling's poor ? Or just the sales.

Not really a surprise for a mid engined lightweight car.
If you can’t drive don’t buy a mid-engined lightweight sportscar
It certainly didn’t help stamping on the anchors at the start of the turn thereby shifting all weight over the front wheels... I note this wasn’t done with the other vehicles.
Poor driving in my book
Should have done all the braking to get to the required speed before the turn
After being on sale for 2 years I’ve not heard of any handling vices.
The Alpine is designed to go under the moose anyway.

Good news (actually involving Dacia ) :
"PARIS – Renault Group has announced a new corporate structure pegged to four brands rather than geographic regions, in the first move by new CEO Luca de Meo to turn around the struggling automaker.
Alongside Renault, Dacia and Alpine, a fourth business unit will be formed for new mobility, according to a statement Thursday. Top executives will run each operation, with de Meo heading up the flagship Renault brand. (...)
The change reflects a switch from "a search for volume to a search for value and profitability," de Meo said. The revamp will "make it possible to work in a simpler way, more oriented to the markets and customers." (...)
Cyril Abiteboul, managing director of Renault sport racing, will head up Alpine, while Clotilde Delbos, deputy CEO and chief financial officer, will oversee new mobilities."

Could not find details on product lines, but this looks like a commitment to Alpine's (and the A110's) future.

Well this confirms Alpine will be going nowhere, the A110 survives and there’s a full plan for the brand... including rebranding the F1 team as Alpine! Some proper joined up thinking there.

Great news this. Quite the change of fortune really, from "almost certainly axed" to one pillar brand in the new group org + F1 team. Really like that development.
Very curious what they will do product wise now. There must be temptation to take a Renault crossover and make that a high margin Alpine SUV. In general, can't see them building another totally not platform shared sports car soon. Would a drop top A110 work? Perhaps not, but Targa? Hm. Time will tell...

I have watched that moose test video, several times......if anything it has actually made me want an A110 even more. Sports car reacts to delicate driver inputs! Shocker! If you can’t drive don’t buy a mid-engined lightweight sportscar
