Has anyone fitted a stick on number plate to the front of their A110 rather than using the plinth? I think you'd have to lose the ALPINE logo on the nose but just wondering what it would look like. I'm assuming (dangerous, I know) that the plinth is fitted by the dealer - is that correct or not?

I had a stick on plate on the front of my 991 rather than the plinth and it looked so much better (IMO) - pic for reference...

Sorry to completely derail the thread straight away but how did you find the 991?
In short, a great car. It took a while for me to fully gel with it, despite it being my 3rd 911 and 6th Porsche, but it was a hugely capable car that got better the more you pushed it. It did feel a big car though, at least to me and certainly at the limit of what I like, so with an Emira on order I decided to get rid while the prices were firm. I've got my A110 coming in March/April and I'm probably more excited by it than the 991 - I think I just like smaller, more chuck-able cars (my other toy in an S1 Elise, which I'll never sell)

Thanks, Anthony. Is the original plinth still there or did you take that off too? Do you also know if the larger plinth is dealer or factory fitted?

I know what you mean about size and chuckability, I loved my Elise. Just a few more and I'll butt out, how did you find the gearing and tyre roar in the 991? They were the two main things in my 981 that caused me to get rid.
The gearing was fine, no problems at all with it. I can't say the tyre noise was high but I can't imagine it being lower than the 981 - they're much wider tyres! Having said that, I think a judicious choice of tyre can make quite a bit of difference to the noise

The factory plinth is a mix of Torx screws (into the inner, moulded plinth) and rivets into the bumper for the outer part.
Is that the factory plinth, or is the factory plinth the small orange one shown in xondat's picture?

The black one pictured is the factory installed plinth.

The small orange one is part of the bumper - it isn't removable.
Ah ok, I thought the black one was dealer fitted
