Noticed that the number of Emira for sale on auto trader has dropped to 52 today I guess this signals an end to the flipping and possibly nearing completion of the UK production for the initial orders for V6 cars. Low 70s could also be a sweet spot for achieving a sale. Even with all the problems and the bad press built up I do feel the I4 will be a bit more of a success if they ever start deliveries!
There's 59 when I just checked, starting at £69,949 asking?PorkInsider said:
I wonder how long Hartley is going to hold on to that Emira they've been advertising since early January?
Do they they think it's going to suddenly become worth the asking price?
I've got a few where I'm thinking the same thing.Do they they think it's going to suddenly become worth the asking price?
There's a specialist dealer who I know well and he's a good bloke so don't want to name him, but I just don't know how he's going to sell it without taking a £10k hit on it. No one wants them.
If I were a dealer I'd take the £3k - £4k hit now and call it a lesson learned.

Didn't someone post some months back that car had sold in the Spring TH has just kept the ad running.Do they they think it's going to suddenly become worth the asking price?
Does seem rather odd.

He said he assumed the sale had fallen through though, rather than them leaving the advert up after the car had gone.

Tempted to pick a lightly used and new car in the second hand market seeing how the prices have dropped…
What do y’all reckon is the right price to pay for one?
Edited to add: an Emira or a regeared 981 GT4 are now the same money which makes the latter quite tempting!

For one with a few thousand miles I'm expecting prices to settle at around £50k.What do y’all reckon is the right price to pay for one?

They need to drop below the price of a 991.2 911 imo.
Their closest revival in terms of package is a 4.0L Cayman GTS and they are around £50k - £65k and have a Porsche badge.

Agree with this. I had a deposit down when first launched but ducked out. The FE is just too much money. In my book it is and always will be a Cayman alternative, just better looking and without a Porsche badge ( a positive in my book). It needs to be Cayman pricing. I think Lotus got carried away with their own hype with the launch price. They need to drop below the price of a 991.2 911 imo.

The market will always find its level eventually.

The Cayman GTS now starts at 73.3k. Spec it up to the Emira FE level and you will be over 80k - so the price is perhaps a bit high (86k post increase) - but not that far adrift. The issue has imo been the "issues" other than the price. 81k for the I4 does look steep, however, compared with the Cayman S (starts at 64k in pdk form) The market will always find its level eventually.

A 4.0L Cayman GTS is not ‘around £50k’. They currently start in the £60’s apart from one low-spec private sale car advertised at £59,995. They need to drop below the price of a 991.2 911 imo.
