Mine charged fine on a 3 pin for a month, I’ve now had a Zappi charger installed no problem to charge.
I would suggest there is a problem that’s not the cars fault.

Porsche said it was a problem with the charger, the charger company said it was a car problem, this went back and forth, he then got Porsche and charging co there on the same day with a Tesla. They have both decided it’s low voltage at the property. I think it was around 220v. (I’ll check)
Now the electricity company are involved and he’s waiting for an answer.

This is not what I'm seeing in my neck of the woods (Midlands).

If Porsche are currently supposed to be overstocked on new/used Taycans (with more cars on the books than are advertised at any one time), the level of apathy and disinterest I've experienced over the last two w/e's at two different OPC is unreal. I was expecting them both to be much more motivated. How are Porsche hoping to sell all of these Taycans with their overpriced finance and not budging on the sticker price?

The best I got offered today was a dealer group contribution of £5k to meet their annual carbon emissions target, for which they get a nice big bonus.

Where are these amazing deals for a Turbo S at £110-120k?

I've now tried a GTS and a Turbo S and there is a notable difference in real world performance between the two.
As at 4th December there were a total of 751 Taycans unsold in the dealer network. Fact.

To be clear the figure 751 refers to new vehicles.

751 new vehicles that they have listed…..JCT 600 have five OPC’s…across them there are 11 new Taycan’s listed. Newcastle are probably in for a bking as they’ve listed 4 which is twice as many as three others and four times more than Teeside.

There are plenty of individual OPC’s that have more than twice as many new Taycan’s than the whole of the JCT 600 Porsceh franchise……..

Real number might be much higher than 751 ?

jct600 are privately owned so are probably playing to a different tune as no share holders breathing down their necks

Didn’t know that. Back when Hexagon was a BMW dealer they used to leverage the fact they were privately owned and didn’t have the same stock holding criteria…..used to buy literally a warehouse full of 3 series cabs in the autumn and put them up for sale in the Spring. Cornered the market in Z8’s etc.

Do Cambria have any Porsche exposure?

A tad off topic, but I'm keen on a few used Astons within the Grange franchise and wonder if the same is happening to them as has been reported about Lookers? (looks more like going bust in next 3 weeks)?

I might have found a couple of cars that suspect wise and have a really good discount, however I’m not wanting to take this thread OT so I’ve linked to my new thread below. I’m getting conflicting opinions from OPCs I talk too, so I’m interested to hear from any 4SCT/4SST/GTSST owners who do motorway miles…

Based on my experience this week its got less than a 200 mile real world range and because it is so inefficient only proper fast charging is viable (unless you have time to kill) when you’re out and about. That’s going to look really poor as newer/better spec cars get launched.
Even in cold weather I get more than 200miles on my GTS with 21” wheels, driven fairly hard and mainly on inefficient short journeys. Sensible driving, with pre-heating etc would improve range further.

Make that 2 I got one yesterday from Porsche Preston. Early days but it’s blowing me away so far. Driving it back to the north east and using the charging network was a breeze.

even with good discount you will still take a massive hit. a friend bought a 155k turbo s st 8 weeks a go with nearly 25%off. has done 2.5k miles but has decided he doesnt like it. took it back to dealer yesterday to get a price and got offered 76k for it!!

Lovely car, enjoy.

I’ve got a 72 plate 4S CT and I’m swapping it for a brand new 23 plate GTS hopefully either this Saturday or next Wednesday depending on paperwork.

Mine’s a company lease and it all works perfectly for me (including driving around Europe) and the deal Porsche have put together isn’t good, it’s a total and utter no-brainer.

I had an F90 M5 previously and don’t miss it at all, not one bit. I haven’t had any issues with the charging network, the 200 to 250 mileage depending on temp etc works fine and it’s a big smile every mile for me.

My current one

The new GTS

I don’t care about depreciation, it won’t affect me. I pay 2% BIK and can’t remember the last time it actually cost me anything significant to run. (I did out £10 worth of juice into it at home the other day as a one off!).

Ultimately you either like an EV and get on with an EV or you don’t. Go in with a negative attitude and you’ll find fault, go in and work the EV system as you need to and it’s bloody brilliant.

If the BIK was the same as an ICE car would you still have the Taycan?

Simple and honest answer, probably not but currently the economics make it too attractive to turn down if you’re in the position to take advantage of them.

I still stand by my thoughts, they are a great car and I get on very well with it. Some won’t, I do.
