Stunning cars, and a pleasantly discrete hue you've chosen too. I assume it has a Ferrari Approved warranty ? If not, probably best you get on first name terms with Martin @ Parkes Performance for when the inevitable happens.
Yeah it came with a warranty, I've just had it inspected by Ferrari to renew it.

It's not been driven much over the last few years (200 miles last year, 280 the year before etc) so I expect some stuff to have a hiccup as I'll be doing 200 miles a week or so in it.

The oil cooler split 3 days after I got it, as it was booked in for a major service anyhow (as part of the cost of purchase) it wasn't a major issue. Car collectet, serviced and repaired and back in 10 days including the oil cooler coming from Italy. Zero cost so far.

I actually expect this to be a delicate supercar, Ferrari dealer said it probably won't be they are very reliable and respond much better to being used than being sat around.

So to bring this thread full circle for me (as the OP) as unfortunately Taycan ownership just didn't pan out for us for a number of reasons. I needed to replace the Cross Turismo with something similar, 4 seats, estate like but not dull. So I bought this, the car I really wanted to start with, but the least tax friendly vehicle I could probably find. Obviously I bought this personally not through the business

We are still running a pair of Mazda MX-30 EV's through the business on a lease, they are just approaching a year old and each has about 7000 miles on it. They've been absolutely faultless and perfect city runabouts/dog cars/supermarket cars. So for us they work as they allow both of us to buy something silly as a second vehicle. My business partner is going with a 992 GTS at some point.
Congrats on the FF, enjoy that engine noise, they’re great cars, I loved mine and nearly went back to a Lusso T recently, but ended up with a Bentley SS instead (I’m clearly getting old).

So I was looking at getting a Taycan CT, didn't fancy waiting two years for an order so was going to pick up a used example. Checked on the Porsche website yesterday first thing in the morning and a brand new CT in exactly my spec was listed! Cancelled order. Picking it up on Saturday smile

The issue I have with the approved stock is that most (possibly all) stock is over list. Some by as "little" as £2k (yr old car with 10k miles), some in excess of £20k (GTS ST, ex demo).

I like the car a lot, but am not prepared to pay overs on a car of this type (they're not limited edition exotics that are/will be rare) that is already very expensive.

Fortunately for Porsche and residuals, it seems plenty of people are. I was offered an ex demo GTS that I conservatively reckon was £10k over. It sold within 2 days.

Anyways, enjoy the car. They're fantastic.

FF is a lovely thing. The days of NA V12 engines are coming to an end. That car is never likely to have many modern equivalents.

Still very much in love with my own Taycan CT. I saw my first Sport Turismo on the road Monday and I think they look stunning. Much more sleek than the CT, although for me the CT is still the better compromise.

This was certainly a component of my choosing to buy one. What else is there like it other than a Lusso? We're also unlikely to ever see the likes again.

So I got one whilst I could.

It is intoxicating and addictive.

Two friends have bought 812's for similar man-maths reasons. thumbup

Fundamentally Porsche have been so successful with the Taycan in the UK mainly due to the unique tax situation, that it's selling more vehicles than it has facilites to deal with.
...
I wonder how it would have done without the tax break? I've got 3 friends with one now and there's no tax benefit (or OPC!) where we live. In any event great choice with the Lusso, I thought about it but the lack of doors wasn't going to work for us. I wince when my 7 year old gets in or out the back of the Taycan with Rugby boots on; I don't think I could cope watching him clamber into the back of the Ferrari! Sad the Taycan didn't work out for you and hope the Lusso is a joy...

I was prepared to pay a small over list fee, luckily I didn't need to. As the car is new and unregistered Porsche are not allowed to sell over list smile

Unfortunately all cars are limited editions at the moment given the lack of stock (not helped by a battery factory fire!!).

Very lucky! But assuming you paid quite a premium on it over an ordered car?

Porsche can't charge overs for an unregistered car in the UK.

Result! Hope you enjoy it - love mine and and very tempted to move to a ST or CT soon.

Bought my 4S CT via my firm as I thought a great car as well as ridiculously tax efficient as a daily runabout. 3 months into ownership it’s far and away the best daily I’ve ever had; no way I could go back to ice regardless of tax position for my runabout. Think I’ve the ultimate 2 car garage with this and the 812SF. I think one or two other contributors have the same combo. Don’t really need anything else?

It's quite interesting isn't it - my ICE V12 is like a gramaphone to a CD. Heresy maybe but I know which vehicle has the engine vastly more suited to actually propelling a vehicle... And it's not the one that give me goosebumps and 'talks' to me - much like a grandfather might...

Interesting to you’ve gone that way OP. I’ve just picked up my Taycan GTS this morning, I still own a Lusso but it will be going up for sale shortly, it makes zero sense as a daily with two young kids, although it was great fun. As much as I’ve enjoyed the car, the 2 door thing has become more hassle than it’s worth and the they throw food all over the back as well! The fuel bills are bonkers too, which for a daily to go to work and nursery also makes zero sense. Looking forward to getting to know the Taycan better and think it will make my other cars more exciting to drive at the weekend.

I don't have kids and my business pays for all my fuel, but I could see how both of those things would be a right nuisance in a V12 3 door car if they are on you.

I have a Mazda EV for daily shopping trolly runs but will still likely be doing 6k to 8k a year in the FF.

Our problems with the Taycan's was the amount of down time we had for a number of reasons. When it went wrong for us it went wrong in a big way and over a combined ownership period for two cars of 10 months they were on the road for 4 of them. We seem to be an exception rather then the rule though.

The overs are just daft at the moment - the cars aren’t worth it at all.

Anyway, couple of ownership questions…

How do you deactivate the internal sensor for the alarm?
Does either apple car play or the pcm Nav have the option of satellite maps?

My car was recalled for a software update - seriously behind Tesla in this regard given they needed my car for 2 days to do it. Had a Taycan RWD car on loan - woefully slow off the line but more nimble and less noticeable power difference at speed. On a launch, the power band doesn’t go full till it’s about 55mph so it has to seriously throttle the power to avoid wheelspin.

Does anyone on here have an issue with their wireless phone charger overheating their phone? I was told the software update would fix it and was a bit sceptical at the time. Anyway, sure enough, issue is still there.

The workshop manager called me to say he drove to Silverstone last week and had the same issue - he thinks there is a problem across all cars and is using mine to open a case. The phone comes up with an overheat warning and doesn't charge.

Mine overheats often as well and I don’t use a case on my phone. I think it’s something to do with the alignment of the charging coils. You could experiment with moving it about in the charging slot so the coils are better aligned. I’ve just given up and plug the phone in if I’m going on a longer drive. I had the same issue in my X3M so I don’t think it’s specific to Porsche.

Just had the big software update - the new power flow diag indicates it decouples the front motor on any steady state cruising and with resultant range increase. Be interesting to see what it will predict for a full charge and if it bests the 279 miles max prediction i used to get.
