I've said it before, I'd absolutely love a CT as our family car, but the car is just too wide and the boot too small for all the stuff we need en-route to our caravan. It's a shame.

They look magnificent and the design will be a future classic I'm sure

The green goblin has just arrived.

Really thrilled with it and it hasn’t left the drive yet smile

Only issue is it wasn’t supplied with a Porsche mobile charger or cable - not sure if it was standard or optional?

The PCM is stuck in the language screen and won’t do the setup wizard - based on a quick search rhe suggestion is because it has no LTE signal so I assume I have to drive it to somewhere it will connect

Range is showing 232 miles in normal and 238 with range mode on 96 percent charge which I’m happy with and is well within my needs.

Even a short trip around the drive it’s so quiet and serene not sure I can ever go back to an ICE car.

Mine had a bag in the funk with a 3 pin plug in charger. Largely useless, but okay if you are away from base for a bit I guess.

I had to buy a cable for 7kW charger though. Which I thought was a bit miserly of Porsche. My wife's Hyundai Kona got one free...

Car looks ace. thumbup

Thanks Digga,

Just back from my first drive in it.

What a machine.

It's like some sort of automotive lear jet - very thankful it had HUD to keep an eye on the speed.

Turned more heads coming through the village than my F12 did.

Corners so flat it's like a scaletrix car.

And the refinement is on a whole new level.

Only PITA is the PCM..finally got it to connect and sign into my account after finding a decent signal at the railway station..after I stopped and tried to sign in again it ended up in the blue circle forever.

Can you turn the PIN authentication off after setup? Going to drive me nuts If I have to wait for a signal to sign in every time.

LOL - another evangelist created angel Its not your fault its the CAR! I defy any petrolhead to dislike driving it - its pornographic power delivery and flat grippy cornering are intoxicating - let alone fab ride on air! The only people who dislike them have never owned one and and have never driven one and talk about 'soul' man!

The supplied charger should be there - its good as it can do 7kW (thats why I had a commando socket to my wall charger so can plug this one in if the wall one breaks) and it will also do 13a 3 pin. Essential.

There is no need to log in every time or do anything. Auto loads your profile. Google for the 2 finger engineering reset maybe?

I totally would. Just to troll the sea of identikit Tesla Model 3 owners at the charging station.

'It looks nice but my Tesla has more range'
'Its fine, it's only 20 miles to Biggin Hill to get on my private jet.'

Good to see positives instead of PCP/Depreciation comments ...

I have a Taycan Turbo S Cross Turismo, done couple of thousnad in it now, love it, best all in one car I have ever owned, far far superior to the Telsa P100D i replaced.
Smooth when you want it, crusing on long journeys, comfortable, switch it too sports plus & go mad, handles fantastc, goes like stink...but dog can go in boot ( not whilst going like stink I might add ) total jackyl & Hyde machine
I do have a fezza Pista Spider in the garage for the sunny days out, but I really do enjoy the Porsche everyday I appreciate its abilities and ' all round' capabilites..enjoy your green machine , looks well, mine is just boring black , but does look like the batmobile ..not sure I could handle Pink mind you

I think you nail it. Also, it's great to have something daft and visceral for fun/track days.

For longer trips, with more luggage, I also have a VW Transporter van.

If my GT3 was a GT3 RS, then I'd have my perfect 3 vehicle garage, but that's 1st world problems.

I test drove a Mac the other day - seriously on the radar; my God it was beautiful. Just wondering if I can get over the utter lag though or will be driving everywhere at 4000 rpm to make it feel more like a Taycan to nip in a gap or overtake... These EV's ruin us!

I drove a mate’s 650S. Didn’t seem overly laggy, but the brake feel was one of the few cars that makes a Taycans brakes feel less than vague. hehe

Only PITA (at the moment) is the PCM….unfortunately this will probably become a longer list.

This is a common problem with them - it can sometimes be sorted with an engineers reset - Google it as you can do this yourself very easily - it worked for me the first few times but then it didn’t. So went back to OPC. Both of my cars had this issue.

If the above doesn’t work then it probably means you are yet another victim of what is a rather unstable PCM. But don’t worry, if this is the case, you can take it to your local OPC and they will put it with all their others back of house that are waiting for the new hardware. Hopefully it will be back before Christmas.

I’m sorry to say I’m not joking and know of several owner who’ve waited 4months to get it rectified. I personally was lucky and was one of the first to suffer this problem with my first one so it only took 1month.

Lovely looking car in that colour. Good luck.

The locked SIM in the PCM is a POS design. Despite the car having a WiFi chip you can't even connect to your home WiFi. Count yourself lucky, where I live is actually region locked by porsche so it has never connected in 2 years! Regardless still an absolutely brilliant car, enjoy.

Quick update:

Thanks for the PCM tip - took the car down to civilisation and performed the engineering reset, logged in and synced straight away and has been fine ever since and now starts up with no issues.

Had a 100 mile run yesterday and first public charger experience on a 75 kwh local charger. Plugged in at 64 percent and it was at 97 percent before we even got our McDonalds order.

Went today to buy a mobile connect charger off a lovely guy up in Surrey, 200 mile roundtrip- set off with 96 percent charge and arrived with 57 percent beating Porsches estimate by 6 percent. Lots of steep hill descents coming off Salisbury plains - very cool how the car can just coast for miles downhill whilst regen - very noticeable the lack of rolling resistance vs ICE and requires very little throttle to maintain a decent pace.

Car was still on 130 mile range when I got there so could comfortably make the round trip, but was stopping for lunch anyway so pulled in at a 150kwh BP pulse when on 54 percent. Huge queue at the PFS with lots of annoyed ICE drivers, car was at 85 percent by the time I got back from buying my sandwich and took it off charge at 95 percent and 210 miles range before I even got half my lunch eaten. Total time was less than 25 minutes, 20 of which were spent in the queue with the fossil mob buying lunch.

Being able to leave the seat cooling and car on 16 degrees whilst I was paying for lunch kept doggy nicely chilled - he was a big fan with the peerless silence and sublime ride comfort seeing him sprawled across the seat in a deep nap for the entire 2 hours.

Got home with 61 percent charge and 120 miles range, even at 2 kWh on 10 amps it will be at 100 percent by morning, so Exeter to London with a lunch stop on one charge is very doable with no inconvenience over ICE.

Some thoughts
It eats distance like nothing this side of a Bentley.
The warp mode slingshot off the line never gets old.
Feels closer to a pendolini electric train in terms of power smoothness than any car I have driven - I find the silence and lack of gear changes etc incredibly therapeutic and calming as does the dog.
Width wasn't a issue even on the perilously tight B road to my house- very easy to place the car with the nose haunches and I'm used to tickling hedges - was tight getting in the charge space but the surround view is excellent and spared any alloy kerbing.

Regen braking takes a bit of getting used to but the carbon ceramics are enough to put you through the window if you stand on them.

Rear wheel steering is a game changer - turns around in the tightest spots better than much smaller cars.

It gets a lot of attention and everyone seems to be a fan of mamba green.

Getting an electrician out to fit a 32 amp commando for the mobile charger connect onto its wall bracket while I figure out a wall box plan.

Having now done 400 miles in 2.5 days across very challenging B roads in the pouring rain, dual carriageway and motorways I can safely say it's the best all round car I've driven.

Can manage to keep to NSL on brnds many cars struggle to do 40 round - corners so flat with no body roll and huge amount of wet weather confidence.

The charging speed of the car shows as long as there is a 75 kWh/ 150 kWh charger en route then the range isnt a problem- in UK traffic conditions it's doing much longer than I can drive non stop and can charge quicker than I can eat, as the infra improves and we get more 350 kWh chargers I think it will be more convenient than ICE, factoring in home charging.

I can put up with the niggles and infra issues as the price of being an early adopter- the CT's all round ability and brilliance as a drivers car, the level of safety tech et al means the problems are worth living with.

Now to be fair it's a 175k technology showcase from one of the worlds best car manufacturers and packaged in something that looked like it went straight from concept car designer to production without bean counters dullibt it down - if it was a Tesla model S, or any other EV I would probably be less enthused by current EV ownership especially if it didnt have the Porsches super fast charging.

Depreciation, future obsolescence, battery life, and all the other nonsense I couldnt care less about - the car justifies its cost on health, wellbeing and driver enjoyment alone, if its better for our planet then that is a bonus

RS4 is being sold this weekend, and my Guilia is going to my business partner to bridge him until we can get him into a Cross Turismo as well - he was totally blown away by the thing and is a full convert as well.

So achieved my objective of a do everything car.

And honestly, I dont think I'll miss ICE at all - had 32 years of driving the best engines on the planet and excited about cars again because this feels something new.

Whisper it - I'm looking forward to a full electric 911 / Ferrari.

Never thought I would say that.

Well done Porsche. You built a brilliant car and the dream supercar estate I wanted my whole driving career.

So much for the ‘ I can fill my diesel up quicker than your EV can charge’ anti EV narrative.

Car charged near 40 percent in the time it took this lot to pay let alone fuel.

At the risk of triggering AV185 with another dogs in Porsches rant here is doggo enjoying the cooled seats.

Bonus was the climate control chilled his bowl full of Evian water down to fridge temperatures in a few minutes.

In the context of some dull as dishwater diesel stink box yes public charging is expensive - but compare apples with apples and this still feels cheap vs an RS6 or E63.

Spent a good while stuck in traffic and the range barely dropped - my E63 6.2 would have been doing 6 mpg in a tailback and triggering serious range anxiety.

And of course the public charging use is offset by the majority cheap rate home charging I can use so over a year of mileage will still be significantly less than any other car of this size and power output.

And let’s face it, you don’t expect to run a 175k 760 hp Porsche on the budget of a 1.0 mini so it’s a pointless comparison complaining about the kWh consumption given it’s designed for performance not economy
