One is a Comfort, the other is an Extreme SE, both are pre orders.
Which is expected first out of interest?
The Comfort.

On the 999cc thread someone has posted they are getting a jogger for the weekend and will be driving it to PH Sunday service at MB world.

I'm just browsing the configurator, and I'm struggling to se why I'd pick anyhting over the Essential.

What was it about the Comfort that sold you the higher spec?

I'd have about a £6k deposit which would put me at about £60 a month on a PCP over 48 months! Incredible value. Very tempted to go take a look at a dealer.

EDIT: I've had another look and yes the extra toys on the Comfort are probably worth it. Adding on metallic paint and the spare wheel I'm up to £100 a month now! Still stonking value. Scope creep! biggrin

I have ordered the extreme because I wanted heated seats and wireless Android Auto/Carplay

That's how they get you, I started out looking at a Dacia Sandero Essential when they were £10K and with Metalic paint and a £5K deposit it was something like £45 a month.

I eventually went for a test drive, I decided I wanted an Auto version and they only had the Stepway in Auto to drive in Prestige spec. I sat in a normal Sandero while I was there and immediately decided I wanted the Stepway I had just driven. That car with metallic paint is now around £17.5K and my £5000 deposit meant it was now something like £169 a month.

With interest I would have ended up paying nearly £20K, or nearly double my initial budget.

This, and the alloy wheels look nice. Plus the dacia brochure only showed the extreme with the rear passenger sliding picnic trays, the floor mats and boot protection, front parking sensors which are always useful, and a couple of extra speakers.

Not bothered about sat nav it comes with, as will use waze, but its there if needed. I'd say its well worth the extra £800

Will there be a raised stepway jogger?

Its already similar ground clearance as a disco, how much more do you need?

It already is, they are all essentially stepways, a lot is based on the Sandero Stepway

Thanks both
I didn’t realise that hence maybe a daft question
Looks like an ideal utility vehicle
Shame Arnold Clark is the dealership locally

I really like the idea of these as a practically disposable kid bus. I think I am going to order one this weekend, probably ordering it blind. You can't argue with 225 down plus 225/month. What are the tax/RFL rules on new cars now? Isn't the first year quite a big hit?

I was surprised they haven't used the stepway badging in some way as its become well known. The ground clearance on my Logan stepway (this is the replacement) is surprisingly good. I've actually done some off roading in it in dry conditions and was capable on forestry, moorland and farm tracks

Asking here as it appears a couple of helpful dealers are posting (thanks!)

Is the hybrid/auto that will be fitted to these eventually currently available in any Renault models? I’d like to take a closer look at the proposed hybrid drive train. I need an auto so it looks like it will have to be the hybrid in the Jogger

Is it possible to add a towbar? I don’t want to tow much weight (eMTBs) but they aren’t really great on anything other than a towbar rack or motor cross type trailer.

I'm most frustrated at the lack of an auto. A Sandero Stepway isn't big enough for me (boot size), and a Duster is an SUV which is beyond the pale in my book as I'm not a farmer (YMMV). Those have auto options. Bah.

From what I can gather the hybrid will be the similar unit that is currently in Clio and Captur.

Towbar, nothing showing currently but I should imagine one will be available soon.

It is coming as a hybrid, most likely about 18m away.

The press kit says it can tow up to 1200kg, so a towbar will be available. I'm buying one for dog/MTB use.

One odd thing in the press kit is the cargo volume has two different values: 1807 dm3VDA and 2085 litres. Never seen that before. For comparison the biggest estate I know of (superb) has 1950 litres but I don't know which method was used to measure that.

Auto hybrid is on the way
