They'll be another brand at some point to fill the void, timing is key.
I managed to buy a Hyundai at the point when they became ok but before getting too posh. Same with the Dacia.
Who's next?

Maybe we'll see someone like TATA coming in at the bottom, designed and built in India.
I bet the lone importer of Lada is having a pretty hard time at the moment.

There are plenty of opportunities for companies to bring back old brands or create sub brands. Its been very successful for some.
But if there is no money in it due to the shortage of components and the price of raw materials why would they bother? The Dacia Sandero Stepway Essential was £10,995 when it was first announced 18 months ago, today that car costs £13,795.Budget brands are no longer budget brands if they need to increase the price by 25% in 18 months.
Plus, when there is a shortage of components they would be better off using these to build more expensive cars which generate more profits. And as I said, ICE is banned in 7 years so that would be a waste of time when your business has such a short switch off point.
No profit, no point.

Configurator not working on dacia site but poverty spec is now over 15K base, that's a hella hike.
Still reasonable value but now they have cut the lpg kit it only adds to the bargain the earlier cars were.
Hopefully our stepway bifuel will still arrive in a few months
I don't think its the same as the old poverty spec, probably similar to what the middle spec used to be. Essential comes aircon and infotainment etc, not like the old days of wind down windows and no stereo. Base Sandero still comes in at £12.5, thats still a lot cheaper than its rivals, especially considering its no longer on an old chassis with old techStill reasonable value but now they have cut the lpg kit it only adds to the bargain the earlier cars were.

Essential hasn't changed from what I can see recently doesn't have infotainment just a dab radio, lads on here that got them for around 10K got a great deal.I know the access got dropped but that isn't for everyone really.

I am getting old, but I would pefer a car with a proper handbrake and no keyless. No bothered about touchscreen thingy either
I'm completely with you, I can't stand having to scroll through menus on a screen whilst driving. I don't want lane assist, I don't want radar activated cruise control or any of the other unecessary crap that crammed into most other modern cars. I an not against tech in the slightest, its just most of it isn't needed. Its a waist of money and it's excessive weight. A few toys is nice but its all gone to far and it seems to be a race to who can add the most techbungz said:

Do they have bad build quality?
Mine is well below par.Front wings misaligned which throws bonnet gap off, dent on rear quarter and boot was wonky.
A bit st really and has been a hassle to sort.
Anyone else here have quality issues?

I found some Renault steelies that fit, from a Talisman.
This website has all the stuff that'll fit.

..and a gratuitous pic. I'm still waiting on the tyres to arrive..... (BFGoodrich Ko2 with white lettering!)
These one aren't standard though, I had them banded 1 1/2" and then powder coated.
