I don't see what more they could do about a brazen theft such as this ? Bollards up to hinder ram raids, substantial gate/fence (presumably the one they broke through)

Likely the car you saw was left for collection ? Hopefully by the legitimate owner ! No options remain if they're away on an event and the car is wanted.

Aaah ! You put "that Mk 2" And I assumed you were referring to one in the pic I've seen on Effbuk of the front with Mk II's parked.
I can imagine it's very quiet around there at that time of night.
