Hi, yes the Alpina has cruise control that you set and then you can set the distance you want to be from the car in front so if they slow down the Alpina slows down also. There is also a setting where the car will come to a stop automatically and cut out the engine which you can override. Hope this helps?

What do the Agnew Repair Centre invoices relate to?
The invoices are not very clear.
Has the car ever been in an accident?
Thanks,
ANDREW

Hi Andrew,

No , the car has never been in a road accident. The front spring went on the drivers side and the recovery team managed to pull off the splitter. They admitted liability so the smaller bill relates to this repair. There were a few scratches on it so that is an improvement!

While it was in I asked for alloys to be refurbished and a dent on the tailgate to be repaired. As they are the official BMW repair centre they insisted on a new tailgate. They also repaired all minor scratches. So that is the bill for £3k. The small bill for a couple of hundred was for the supply and fitting of the new “Alpina” and “B3S” logos.

The original owner had the lower half of the car wrapped in plastic. There are 2 very small stone chips on the bonnet (3mm each ?) but these would require the plastic wrapping to be removed. On balance I thought the ongoing protection outweighed the minor cosmetic blemish. They have just been touched in by hand by the Detailer.

Hop this makes sense?

The colour came out well in the sun (unusual in this part of the world…). There is a high metallic content in the Rools Royce paint. BMW would only allow this as an option on the Alpina (not M series cars.

By the way if anyone flying over for a day viewing I will provide transport to and from airport

Boat back is overnight via Liverpool or 3 hours to Cairnryan. Or you can drive to Dublin and cross to Wales. All about £250 with one person in car.

Hi, I have a few questions please:

1) What’s the deal with 2 year MOTs? Would they be valid back on the mainland?
2) The service history at Meadow Cars, are they a BMW Specialist or a local garage?
3) With the car on a private plate is it registered in NI or Swansea? Is the plate staying with the car?

Thanks in advance and maybe one for the consignment team but the paperwork resolution is pretty poor - could higher resolution images be added perhaps?

Hi RB5,

There was a backlog of MOTs due to Covid so newer cars were given a 1 year break so they could catch up. The car still had to be roadworthy and they are now back to annual. NI MOTs are at government centres and stricter than GB which are at private garages. NI and GB MOTs are valid in both jurisdictions until expiry.

The private plate is going with car. “B3” for model number and “DEU” for Deutschland country code.

Serviced at BMW while under warranty (4 years”. Used local garage FOR small items. Total expenditure less than £1,000 in three years. MOT prep, oil and brake fluid, new BMW battery, fro t and year brake pads. All BMW parts as stated, the car sails through MOTs. My main dealer is not very convenient, a bit slow and labour charges high…

All NI cars are registered in Swansea.

If you make a bid I can DM you the photos. I think ti sent the photos on low res as they were not going through the firewall and they greyed out my address.

Hope this helps?

Hello, I'm the original owner - the car was protected with Topaz PPF from new on all the panels which did not have decals applied. It also had GTechniq Ceramic coating.

Does the car still have the original Alpina floor mats?

Hi Clyn, yep that’s perfect thanks - feels weird buying a car with more than a years’ MOT but I learnt something new today! If you could share the images once bidding is underway that would be most appreciated. Does the rear bumper have PPF coating, was that an issue when blending the boot repair? Were any PPF panels removed when they were ‘tidying up’ the minor scratches?

Thanks

Hi,

Piston heads have got the MOT wrong and I will contact them on Monday to clarify. The 2 year gap was a temporary measure due to the failure of ramps on a major testing centre and backlog due to COVID shutdowns. They have taken this as a different policy and added on two years. As i said earlier, all NI MOTs are carried out at government centres rather than a friendly local garage. Older cars have had panels fall off due to the violent shaking...

Certain newer cars were given an additional year's cover but warned to keep the car "roadworthy". This was a temporary measure and has been discontinued. The current MOT expires on 2 Nov 2026. This is shown correctly on the NI gov.uk website.

Hello to DANS, many thanks for the use of this car, I have enjoyed it!

I defer to you on which panels were coated with plastic as i was not given details by Sytner in Nottingham. The 2 stone chips on the bonnet were on the car when I bought it and I suspect happened during the delivery...

The plastic on the front and back bumpers started peeling at the edges shortly after I got the car. Although the coating was still under warranty iI would have had to drive the car to London via boat to get the repairs done. The front bumper would have have had this remover to fix scratches. The front spoiler is new but has decals so presumably was not coated? The back bumper had the film removed when scratches were repaired.

The hatchback rear door is brand new this year and has not had any PPF applied.

the roof has no decals so presumably has the PPF applied?

I bought the green and cream floor mats and the mat in the boot. the floormats are on top of the grey mats which i received with the car. Out of interest, was the ceramic coating applied all over prior to the wrapping?

hope this is of help?

Chris

Hi, I have a couple of questions if I may.

- You mentioned previously that a front spring had broken, was this done at a main dealer and replaced with the correct Alpina spring and evidenced?

- I see the dash panels and I Drive trims are in Alcantara, I wasn’t aware Alpina did this as an option. Can you confirm if it was from factory or trimmed afterwards? (Maybe this could be answered by the first owner)

Thanks in Advance.

Hi Chris

Glad you liked it, funnily enough I asked Gary at Alpina only a couple of weeks ago if he knew where the car was! One of my favourite cars. The Ceramic wasn't applied where there was PPF, but was applied everywhere else. It originally had Grey mats with Cream piping and a set of winter wheels and tyres, did you get those as well?

Someone asked about the Alcantara, I ordered it like that from new, it was an option, but wasn't a regular option on the configurator. I think it started because of the M3CS console being supplied in Alcantara, and because it had been done on the B3GT3 previously. A few cars had it done.

Cheers
Dan

I would say it's BMW's individual opal white or platinum merino leather inc the instrument panel in merino leather, not sure why the advert calls it Rolls Royce leather, the choice was Dakota or Merino or Lavalina (Alpina's own leather)

Hi Dan,

Thanks for the info. No I did need the winter wheels in the end so sold these on. The grey mats were in the car when I bought it. I was told that you had opted for a leather upgrade and paint upgrade. Gary told me it was from the Rolls Royce palette and could only be used on Alpina (not BMW branded cars). Perhaps I got this wrong but I think they were £3k each?
