Posted on the Design thread, but maybe more relevant in this post, this is one of my new rough sketchs for a Threewheeler Design project with a V-Twin Guzzi engine up front...smile

If you want some detailed pictures, let me know.
Thanks Fer. I've already had a good look at the Secma products. Very interesting. Whilst I'm impressed, not quite the direction I am going in - but thanks all the same.

As always, intrigued by your work Italo! I take it you've clocked this from down under - http://ozht.com/trike/index.html
Hope the bodywork lives up to the promise of his chassis! Any ideas?

Thanks David.smile, I had been following this link for quite awhile from the locostbuilders thread, posted a few years ago.

I like his chassis and can see a lot of potential also in the design.

I'm looking forward to the finished vehicle.

This newly announced 'retro' Morgan has set my mind going again. Personally, I'm not much attracted to the vintage style 3-wheeler, except as a quirky piece of history. But each to his own. If Morgan want to resurrect this design then I wish them luck.

But I would be much more interested in a truly modern interpretation of this format as a kit.

I have given this some thought over the years but always rejected it in the end, preferring to stick with four wheeled sportscars. But something is telling me to look at 3-wheelers again - 2 in front, one at the rear variety only, that is!!!!

I admit to having no direct experience of trikes - or even bikes to be honest. So can you give me the benefit of your advice and experience?

A few initial questions spring to mind:

What are are the pros and cons of fwd/rwd in this context? (3 x 3? Surely not!!??)
Does IVA apply to these?
What modern donor mechanics/engine-drive layouts are feasible?
Are they for performance or just for fun?

Gentlemen - over to you.
Loads of diff takes & ideas, they are fun, not fast for sure, tho some are, this is my latest toy.

It's a BJ Avion!!!!

Don't see too many of these little beasties around! Are those Burton wheels? They look good. What width tyres are you running, they look wider than the ones on my Lomax.

If your not already on there, get yourself over to www.citroenspecialsclub.org there is a vast array of knowledge on the forums and many of my issues have been resolved by talking to the guys on there!

Is that the one with the new picture on ebay? If so then it has been noted on another PH thread.

Only slightly O/T, but does can anyone recommend any authorities (online or printed) dealing with the pros and cons of different rear swing-arm lengths on motorcycles? Thanks!

I have all ways been interested in the idea of an enclosed 1 + 1 trike 2 at the front. Something a bit like a cross between the front part or a modern glider the rear having a single sided swing arm with the body work over the top so it all looks very sleek and uncluttered. I guess I should learn to draw and see if the idea in my minds eye looks any good to others.

I believe there are a few out there, I'm sure I've seen some pictures (probably in italos now infamous epic thread).

Take a look at the Hudson kindred spirit. I believe some of these were 1+1 and were based on the Renault 5.

Partly infamous because you kept posting links to your photobucket pictures, then deleting the underlying pictures! The thread is pretty hard to read now, because most of your images are now missing frown
