BMW Z3 with Ferrari 250 SWB kit
Discussion
Great, thanks for that. Looks good.
A dark silver grey metallic, chrome quarter bumpers and a little bit of detailing here and there, BMW roundels, kidney grille and a nice interior and that would make a superb practical toy for not a lot of money. What's the biggest BMW lump that can be shoehorned in the Z3 bay? I assume it was e36 based or the earlier 3 series?

That needs a good respray. Shame about the badges.
Looks to be straight out of the mould in its gelcoat, with the flash lines of the mould sections showing, probably in a rush to get it to the show, good prep and paint and that would look far more originalA really nice shape as a convertible I think as someone mentioned earlier with a BMW badge you'd probably have a lot of interest from passers by.
It was fresh from the molds in gel coat with all the flash lines showing and not polished, well a small patch on the corner of the front wing was polished to show what it would look like. They had only started creating the molds for the back of the convertible 10 days before the show and built both the convertible and a coupe in the ten days leading up to the show.
10 days from Z3 to at the show. Not bad for two blokes who drove the cars up to the show and home again
There were finished ones as well to show what the end result might look like. Here is a replica of mine in blue, a 'cobra' on orange and a 'd type' based on a Triumph Spitfire in grey

Quick update on this thread - the black car was the first professionally finished coupe but it's in the Netherlands.
This is the first professionally finished coupe in UK - literally just finished. The (very lucky!) owner took inspiration from the Eric Clapton SWB and, yes whilst you can argue about degrees of accuracy, there's simply no denying it's a stunning looking car. I understand it will be at Stoneleigh on the build agents stand (Nubodi)

(Maybe someone could make up a shiny chrome animal badge that looks right from a distance but up close it's a parody rather than an actual prancing horse, perhaps a prancing goat)
Look forward to seeing it finished.
I like that idea a lot Look forward to seeing it finished.
And I quite like this concept, as a Z3 owner myself who happens to like the look (once it's been tweaked a little, like most BMWs) compared to the Bertini kit which seems to be really popular, but to me looks conflicted.
