but as it's apparently come to an end I'll waste no more of my time on it.
I'm sorry you feel that way, I wish I'd realised you were still working on it.Being serious.
The main problem - IMHO - with how the car on the first page has been built, is that the design work by the look of it has all/mostly occurred within Solidworks.
Solidworks workflow tends to lead you to geometric shapes and flat panels. Also, if you are not careful the shapes you create are overly heavy looking. The correct way of working involves artistry such as sketches, the extensive use of non-geometric CAD structure and an awareness of how panels will look in the real World. In other words traditional metal working and design skills beat a purely CAD approach every time.
This might sound overly critical and if you do a search of previous threads you will see that myself and SC do not get on great, but what I am saying is solid practical advice born from extensive previous experience and intended to help.
NB: I know it may well be made from glassfibre, but my point is that a designer must know how panels look in real life. Therefore, my point is relevent.

I bet SC wants this thread buried.
Not particularly. I just don't want to exacerbate the situation. Very briefly, due to the long length of time between updates I had to assume, that for reasons he has already given, that the DD was unable to make a viable amount of progress. However what constitues a 'long length of time' and 'viable amount of progress' is a matter of personal opinion. His opinion and mine are obviously different, but that's no reason for anyone to get upset about. I've told him I am happy to continue the project if he is, we will have to wait and see what happens.singlecoil said:

How important is this project to you?
3) Personal opinion....hmm so nothing has happened?
4) You're happy to continue if he is?.......I get the impression he is not bothered about doing anymore free work.
Not good news from a business point of view TBH. Why don't you just admit that your project has been handled in a lamentable way?
