Best kit car HELP please?

It's a bit of a tricky one i really like the look of the marlin and the idea of an m3 engine. Main use will be as second car to potter around in on w ends which is why the marlin strikes a chord. It can be covered it has classic looks and if done right could be if a wanted it to be as fast as fcuk. I would say one question mark would be whether i could go down the road of a v8 for that amazing v8 rumble. What would the difference in weight and size be do you think between the m3 engine or and a v8?
Not convinced by things like a lambo rep i would feel cheap and silly i think. Like the idea of a seven or cobra (dax) looks awesome but cant be justified and is against the idea of diy.

Why could you not justify a 7 or cob? Would you need to carry some luggage at times, or is it just the type of car? The V8 Marlin would indeed be swift! Doe sit look much different to the straight 6 versions? IE bigger/wider bonnet?
The dax cant be justified cost wise. I have a 2 car2 on order (admittedly i wont get 1 till 2009 apparently) but i am also due to change work cars shortly which is going to be reasonably expensive. The seven is also a bit common in a way as there are quite a few about and i like being a bit individual if i was to go down the road with something as hardcore as the 7 i would get an atom which of course you dont build yourself which is what i want to do.I also think i prefer the look of the roadster kinda classic car wise.Also not sure you can get a v8 marlin it was just a thought of whether it would be possible to shoehorn a nice v8 in and whether in doing so i would compromise the handling of the car by adding potential weight.
