Depends what you're planning to use it for.
If it's more touring orientated, I'd probably go with the GD Cobra too (though I'm not sure I'd want to pay the petrol costs for the trips to the Alps and Le Mans!).
More weekend blat/trackday orientated... probably the other Gardner Douglas - the T70 Spyder.

What would the mpg be like? 30 combined?
If its handling that's going to be your priority then either the GD T70 or an Ultima I have an LS3 in my Ultima straight out of the box and it's more than enough for me on the road, I get mid 20's on a run and les around town, but obviously your right foot will always dictate your fuel usage. I could get more out of mine if I changed my gearbox, I'm running a Getrag box out of a Carrera 2 and the gearing just doesn't suit a big torque V8.

I know feck all about gearboxes..... You thought of upping the power just for the sake of it? TheLastPost said:

I've got the LS in GD Cobra - love it to bits.If it's more touring orientated, I'd probably go with the GD Cobra too (though I'm not sure I'd want to pay the petrol costs for the trips to the Alps and Le Mans!).

Did the Alps trip this year (2500 miles in a week) and got a "best tankful" of 31MPG - average was 24.5 MPG over the entire distance though.
After 4 years of dithering, I just made a decision on this question. The shortlist was the GD Euro Cobra or the GD T70. The best options in each sector. The T70 clearly wins on handling but always suffered from the need to use a Porsche transaxle with all its shortcomings. The box could be fixed but at big cost with Albins / CMS. Now there is an answer - the new Griffin transaxle. Its made for the LSx, has huge choice of ratios, stock McLoud twin-plate clutch and matching flywheel, no adapters, comes with a shifter. Finally, the problem is solved.
I just placed the order, so the journey begins.

Still makes me giggle like a kid after 10 years on the road with it!
T70 floats my boat, especially with the new roof, thing of beauty!
