Now here's a kit that excites me - but I'm a 70s child.

How fantastic, and when it's got a bit rusty can you turn it into a Dutton? Actually I love it looks really good I'm sure that there's going to be quite a few takers.
We're currently doing something similar but for a 60s car somewhat similar ilk Might post some teasers shortly as we're still working on the moulds.

realistically how hard do think this would be to get road legal?
Im supposing if it is built with new parts - which wouldnt be so hard - it will be able to be registerd with a new age related plate?
Very nice looking bit of kit anyway, I have been looking at MK1s for a while now, to build up as a track car, this saves 90% of the problems and would probably work out a fair bit cheaper too!
would be a nice little project.

Age related plates only apply where there is an identifiable donor. If the car is built from new parts then it will qualify for a new registration.Im supposing if it is built with new parts - which wouldnt be so hard - it will be able to be registerd with a new age related plate?

Balls, i didnt phrase that too ell, that is what i meant.... it would be eligable for a new plate, as apposed to a Q plate then right? For those that are interest it is £10k for the rolling chassis however this does not include things like 'glass' etc.
For a 'complete kit' less engine and trans etc, you are looking at an additional £20k's worth of parts from SHP, note that both of these prices do NOT include VAT!!!
Looking through the parts list there are some things that you may feasibly be able to substitute or find at a lower price however SHP has stated that quite a few things are bespoke and so may be hard to make work since you can't rob bits of a genuine Mk1.
Allegedly it's 650-675kg in certain configurations!
Still, I *LOVE* it.
