As Neil said, it is a conversion !
Instant give away, it has quarter lights !
I know Mr Venn's mate's Russ, converted a green V6 Tuscan to V8 in 80's !!
Oh...Russ bought a V6 that had been converted to a V8 by the previous owner, there is a little more to the story....but that is for others to tell. Richard Carter then purchased and sold it to someone in Australia or New Zealand. Instant give away, it has quarter lights !

If it was a £50k tuscan V8 then people may be misled.

IF It's s Vixen with a V8, at what point did it become a LWB Tuscan?
Value is an other story....not really anything to do with representation.
If the Car was a TVR Tuscan (V6) and the advert then states it has a V8 and the car is a LWB chassis. The advert stating that the car is a TVR Tuscan V8 LWB is factually correct Value is an other story....not really anything to do with representation.

The question you need to be asking is what was the description of the car when it left Blackpool in 1970! I dont see much wrong with the advert. I know you get much more anal than me about originality but if it is a Tuscan V6 then their isn't much difference anyhow and the most important thing is the price being right for what the car is.
Their were only 10 UK spec Tuscan LWB's built (original ones)

NOW, for the forum and I need a lesson in these cars Neil .....a picture of what is the latest FIA agreed cars absolute standard and FIA...because as I understand it, most of the cars previously eligible are no longer eligible and the current owners have choices to make.

That would be a very long e-mail Adrian.Adrian@
But as short as I can:
Std body 400 kamm tail car running max 7" wheels No issue.
Beetle back MK3 granny shaped griffith some issue as to whether homologated and whether any ran in an international race so as far as I am aware they are not now recognised by Fia.
Wide arched version (similar but not exactly the same) as seen in advert on this thread. These are the accepted arch configurations which have been proven to have existed on the EH M Paul car which raced in 65 / 66 in an international event. as such after much struggle they have been accepted as FIa compliant (until they start spanking the opposition again)
Final cars are the Wide arched but standard shaped 400 kamm tail cars with 8" wheels which The Fia have chosen to make an example of and are now banned
So what we now have in Fia is a lot of genuine griffiths which are no longer accepted because they followed the homologation docs as were and now HTP replicas of the EH M Paul car which are accepted as a re-creation of a car that raced in period.
Isn't historic racing a funny old world?? Heres me thiunking it was about racing something old rather than something that looks old!!
The Fia have created a situation where you are faced with a choice between changing the bodywork of an original car or building an HTP replica.

why is dyslexic so hard to spell? While we are being alan, what is the difference between a Tuscan LWB and an LWB Tuscan? What have Griffiths and FIA/HTP go to do with any of this? Your short answer could have been shorter neil if you referrred to the cars as Griffith 200 and Griffith 400 and if people didn,t know the difference they probably wouldn,t be reading this anyway!
Whatever it is it looks a great car and well proven at driving for a minute at a time. Sensible option would be to buy it, sell the engine and gearbox etc and convert it back to what it was. Dont laugh, somebody is already doing it.
