1967 Tuscan V8

I remember seeing one being rallycrossed at Lydden in the early 70's until it flew over the hump on the outside of paddock hill bend, the remains were unceremoniously dumped in the back of a lorry never to be seen again. If I remember the car was white in those days, don't think it had any sign of number plates. Geoff

MMT did have a sunroof but it was fibre-glassed in, one of the "extras" she received when repaired by TVR before Martin Lilley bought TVR.IMHO I do not see it being MMT 7C

I'm n ot saying it is or isn't MMT, just interested to see what does happen.
We don't have all the history to the car, we are missing info from when it was built to the late 60's. Alan Arnold and Gregor Marshall have been very helpful, and we are grateful for their input into building up what history we have so far. We have also investigated whether this is MMT 7C, and still do not know. Hence there is no mention of this in the sales info. We posted the auction info, because we thought people may also be interested to see the car. Sorry if this offends you.

the instrument panel below the switches is different in the book of the original TVR Tuscan V8 short-wheelbase...
also with 271hp its a Tuscan V8 SE...the normal Tuscan V8 had 195hp so the book says.
also Martin Lilley's own car is in the book with licence plate "500 ML" and restored, in that picture the roof is a closed version so no hole, and the side-vents as in this for sale car.
also the 500 ML had no extra bonnet-vents ala Ferrari GTO
there's also a picture in the book which says....
Robert Nosowicz's ex-Martin Lilley wide-body Tuscan V8 which shows the large aperture? in the glass fibre roof which is normally filled by a Perspex panel.
also another picture which says ML's ex car is only one of just 2 RHD wide-body Tuscan V8's
strange thing thou is are the side vents of that ex ML car...they are different, they have the vents of the 2500M models...
so I guess that 200-035 is not ML's car

Hi GTRene, I think that Martin Lilley's Widebody Tuscan V8 and his original racing Tuscan 200-035 are different cars. I thought that the WB Tuscan was a development car made specially for ML when he was at TVR. His racing period in the other standard body Tuscan was before this. - could be wrong the instrument panel below the switches is different in the book of the original TVR Tuscan V8 short-wheelbase...

I think you are talking about a lot of different cars.
MMT7C was a 1965 Griffith, built by Grantura Engineering. Used by Martin and then GerryM to go racing.
Martin and then Gerry ran the Barnet (London) Dealership, so had many cars through their hands.
500ML is a 1967 SWB Tuscan SE, tested by MOTOR in 1967
EOY217J (200-035) is the SWB Tuscan recently restored car sold at Silverstone on Saturday
SKY3(NVN229F) is a 1968 LWB Tuscan which is shown in one of the Tipler books.
The Wide bodied cars are later (c1970)
The speculation below was based on the information that EOY217J was revived using remains sold by Gerry.

do you know the colour and reg number of the car when Martin Lilley owned it?

--Tuscan V8 = 28, were 4 RHD and 24 LHD built in 1967
--Tuscan V8 LWB = 24, were 12 RHD and 12 LHD built in 1967 and 1968
--Tuscan V8 Wide Body = 21, were 2 RHD and 19 LHD built in 1968 to 1970
I guess you have to see all 3 next to each-other to see clear which is what
I remember (from my short memory) that I have somewhere some writing and pictures of a very nice
Tuscan V8 I guess from ML which was described in some Dutch (I believe) car magazine.
