Just wondering if anyone can identify the heater control knobs on the picture that is to follow. The 2 larger ones next to the glove box, i think they are for the fresh air flap and the hot water valve. Any idea what cars they were used on?, the pic is of a Grantura MK2,
Cheers

There you go Rich one picture...and if anyone that does not require these from when they were lightening their race car...Rich is adding a heater system to his Mk2.

PS...does anyone know what the chrome thing above the heater controls?
PPS the heater system is thought to be some like the Smith's F260 kit which Rich has apart from the control knobs .

Ah...so, are we talking that you have had made new ones and that the images are of the new items, or are the images of the OE items that were not good enough for your restoration? and are now surplus to you requirement...I understand that we now have one of these, (I also have a 'loan' of one that we were thinking of copying)

The knobs in the photo I posted above ARE the new reproduction knobs. The violin maker created the mold from a perfect original knob that a friend of mine was able to supply. The initial cost incurred included development costs...which I absorbed in part to help move the project forward. If you contact Steve at the email I provided, he will provide you with an estimate. Steve went over and above to create a beautiful reproduction that is second to none. He is an amazingly talented individual!!!
They look very pretty...Richard, (Luckycarter) I am sure will ask the question. One issue is that he already has one OE item (that has taken since the 17th of October to turn up) and a repro 'might' not match that, and this car is a long term build that has breathing space to allow another to 'turn up'.
Obviously my words here ..Richard might feel differently (it's his car after all) and the price might be so reasonable as to allow him to purchase a matching pair.

Doing great Adrian, thanks. Still working on my old Italian before getting stuck into the old 3000M, new chassis is powder coated and ready for assembly so it's still lined up for a proper rebuild.
Here are those knobs on an Alvis dash, next task is to find someone who does Alvis stuff....
Cheers, and hope all is well with you and yours.

Richard sourced his NOS items from a benefactor, they seem to be a loved or hated item in the Grantura 'world'. But now the source has been identified, the guys who are looking for them (I have one of Richard's spares on my office table) will be able to source them...or at least start the search without hopping around the net looking at images of anything era related that 'might' of used them.
