Legroom in a 1600m
Discussion
I'm currently looking to buy a 1600m but as I'm 6ft 2" and 34" leg I have a problem with legroom in most sportscars.
Is there anyone out there who is similar build and owns or has driving experience of a 1600m? I'm not particularly large(36" waist 15 stone) although my other half differs with me on this!!
Also does anyone in the North of England have a 1600m for sale or poss a Vixen?
Cheers

Today I went to view a 1600M for sale in PH Classifieds. The car is the one in Doncaster for sale by Rich.
I was disappointed to find the legroom severly restricted. I have measured the distance from the face of the brake pedal to the front edge of the seat squab and this is only 19.5" with the seat fully back.
I feel I would need the whole pedal set/ box to be 2-3" further forward to allow me to drive comfortably.
As you can guess I did not buy the car - I'll just have to keep on looking.....
Anyone shed any further light on this. I find it hard to believe that all TVR's were made for sub six footer.

Richard there are 3 different pedal boxes...short std. and long, you need long, and the 75-76 car as the 72-74 had fixed a fixed back bucket seat, with no rake adjustment. (you could modify a std one to long, but not short to long).

Morning Richard ....The different is in the seat that is fitted to the 75-76 car, there was no way that you would fit into an ealier car unless the later seats had been fitted.

Aha! So there's still hope for me. Yes indeed the car was a '72 spec car. I need to look for something later then. Thanks again Adrian.
