Will Powell taking the last seat at One Motorsport... I think that’s the grid complete then.
( ... or is it). scratchchin

Old school, quite a few in new teams v Newbies & Rookies.
It could produce some interesting results.

I'm surprised Tony Gilham never thought to launch his own series, he'll enough cars before too long at this rate.

Can I just ask what might be a silly question. Why would a team (for example Team Hard) purchase x amount of SEAT Cupras and engineer them as best they can, rather than buying last year's BMW 330's or Civic Type R's (proven race winning cars) and run them instead?

Because they’re doing it a cheaply as they possibly can. That is their MO.

I must admit I do feel quite underwhelmed looking at this year's BTCC grid. At worst, it feels like 2001 or 2005 all over again but I know this year is nothing like as bad as those years, there were probably worse times in the mid-1980s as well.

yeah but the cars were way cooler - BMW 635, Rover Vitesse, Ford Merkur, Toyota Supra, Volvo 240 turbo. They beat the ste out of a Hybrid Seat Leon.

The 2 Litre era has gone on long enough in that respect then.

Did a Volvo 240 turbo ever race in UK ?
I thought it was ETCC only .

Other interesting cars of that era , Starion and Maserati Biturbo [flop] ,also class C Toyota AE86s vs Escort RS1600is , Alfa Romeo GTV6s .

Oh my god how windy was it!

Popped down there for 45 mins as it's just down the road, but abandoned to the warmth of Bluewater!

That's a decent sized grid.....as ever I'll watch the first meeting, and go from there. I struggle with the modern BTCC - 3 x 20 min races aren't really my thing.

Half the field wouldn't make it as far as Paddock.

Hopefully Nick Halstead will have got his rear-window numbers arranged properly before the season starts.

Not even sure who half the grid are this year? Are there more up and coming drivers who've managed to get the cash together or is it rich club racers committing to spending more cash to be in touring cars for a year or 2?
