The WRC 2012 Thread

I amazed at people defending NOS admittedly I only got to see bits of WRC coverage on Motors last year as I couldnt get ESPN but the coverage seemed poor and there was far too much incar footage, as for people complaining about the comentary, surely anyone is better than the utterly dire Paul King?

Well done to Loeb on the win, never in doubt once JML binned it sadly
Ive got to admit im a bit surprised to see that the rally has finished, I was expecting it later in the day
Im 99.9999% going to the Monte next year, it looks amazing! PH trip anyone?
Is the WRC at the Monte next year? I thought the WRC was alternating rallies - I was wondering why WRC hasn't been at Monte for the last few years - an one know?Ive got to admit im a bit surprised to see that the rally has finished, I was expecting it later in the day

I'm lucky enough to have a basic Sky HD package so get Eurosport and Motors included (and the new F1 channel), but I'm wondering if any of the free to air channels might pick up a highlights package off Eurosports like Dave used to show.

The Monte Carlo MSA booted the WRC out of Monte Carlo, when their demands for ever shorter stages got silly and replaced them with the IRC crowd. I suspect they are only back because of the big changes that are afoot, like NOS being given the boot and a bigger focus on endurance rather than just short sprints. interloper said:

No he isn't, it's a 'suspended' ban.EDLT said:
Loeb got caught speeding in Sweden a couple of years ago too. Remember when the Welsh police tried to give tickets to most of the WRC competitors a few years ago?
Was it McRae who had a ban for speeding and so his navigator had to drive the road sections?I also remember a bit of tv footage with Gronholm arguing with Traff Pol that even though his car was missing a wheel he could still drive it back to service. The police were having none of it saying you can't drive that anywhere. Marcus was adament that he could drive it, only they wouldn't let him
Loeb proves it is perfectly possibly to drag a car along on 3 wheels or so.
