Apologies from a newbie pov, but Ive been watching INdy500 for a few years, but why is it only Chevrolet and Honda as the engine manufactures?
Seems like a poplar series.
Because they are the only options.

Have a look on Wikipedia.
Thats not a very friendly response really.
I have had a look, but can't see anything specific. Can other engine manufactures not enter this? why?

Sorry. Not intended to be rude.

But I don't have the time to explain. I'm a Kiwi watching a Kiwi doing a great job at trying to win the Indy 500.

Long story short, they all have the same chassis built by Lola, they have a choice of Honda or Chevrolet power. It isn't an open race series like F1.

Herta's left front did hit the wall. Once he came to a stop he turned the wheel and they didn't move.

Commentators are talking crap about him getting back into the race.

Yeah, left front clattered the wall. Bit odd how that came about though?

What's the local UK time for 8.15?

Hertz, again managing to find the wall when running well.

McLaughlin is looking so fast - his last restart was insane going into T1 - watching through fingers!

Wouldn’t be surprised if there is a bit accident in the pits with all these near misses

Lola closed years ago.

It's a Dallara chassis.

Got to say…..last year was a little bit formulaic until the last stage of the race.

This year however has been nuts from the start - great racing smile
