Great qualifying laps, everyone absolutely on it and some over it.

Scotty very quick in the Volvo but he's driving it at 12/10ths and I sense a calamity.

Mark Skaifes shouty commentary is brilliant:

"300KPH DOWN CONROD STRAIGHT!"
"THE FASTEST TOURING CAR CORNER IN THE WORLD!"
"800 CENTIGRADE ON THE BRAKES!"

And, the best one:

"BANGING DOWN THROUGH THE GEARS, REV LIMITER!! - HE'S HANGING OFF OF THE VALVE SPRINGS!"


Brilliant stuff, can't wait for the race.

Thought he knew better, and going by the interviews afterwards still thinks he was right!

They shouted at him for 5 laps, he heard them and had he backed off even slightly he would have raced to the finish and - probably - won.

I'm glad he didn't.

And so endeth another brilliant season, I'm sure you agree that this incredible racing series never disappoints.

Great to see the Merc's and Volvo's battling the old timers at the front and looking forward to Ford's last year in the sport in 2015.

Fiery Marcus Ambrose returning should keep the panel beaters happy and hoping that Mercedes and crazy, characterful Betty Klimenko commit to another full season.

The fireworks start on 27th Feb at the Clipsal 500, can't wait !
