Dream on fellas. No way a GT based race series is getting a 24hr race at Snetterton!
Besides unsuitable facilities for GT cars, how can most GT drivers justify the £50/60K+ it costs to run a GT car in a 24hr race, at a place no one outside of Norfolk has heard of. No chance!
The Willhire was different. In those days it didn't cost even half as much to go racing as Britcar does today, even comparing bottom Britcar to top Prod saloon class cars.

I think the phrase has something to do with hitting nails on their heads Besides unsuitable facilities for GT cars, how can most GT drivers justify the £50/60K+ it costs to run a GT car in a 24hr race, at a place no one outside of Norfolk has heard of. No chance!

There are only 3 tracks in the UK licenced to hold a 24 hr race - Silverstone, Snetterton and Anglesey.
We know that Silverstone is no. Snetterton is unlikely (and has noise issues of its own)and Anglesey? Great track but most Britcar racers don't even know where Wales is so that's a no then.
Therefore, the inevitable conclusion is no Britcar 24 hour race in the UK, sadly. Run a race abroad under the Britcar banner maybe, co-promoted? Or just forget about it and enter Barcelona instead?

I'd love to see Britcar at Anglessey anyway but I don't see it happening, I remember most of the media pack could'nt be bothered to go to Oulton Park and Anglessey is another 2 hours up the road.
It's a shame Donington isn't licenced for a 24 hour event, you'd think no one would notice with the planes running all night.
I think Barcelona will be most peoples main event now, easy to get to, not too expensive and guaranteed sunshine although the thunderstorm last year was pretty impressive.
What are the chances of running a 12 hour event somewhere?
