There certainly was NOT a diesel running at LM in 1999

But in 1950, the Delettrez and the M.A.P. The Delettrez car also ran in 1949 and 1951. And of course the Taurus Lola in 2004.

Just out of curiosity: Is the rules for the LMP900-class (if that's the name of the game) that the car has to have rear-wheel drive? It's of course the lightest way of putting the power down, compared with 4WD, but with appr. 1100 NM of torque, that engine will try to toast the rear wheels at any chance, so won't the TC be restraining the engine almost non-stop??

All Wheel Drive is banned in all classes in Le Mans.
So is All Wheel Steel, in fact.

I think they once tried a 4WD system in rallying, or something.

...or am I the only one who finds that funny?
