I have been to Silverstone a numver of times although not for a GP I have to admit. I find the place rather bleak - probably the legacy of its old bomber base underpinnings. Its not the venue so much as the atitude shown to the race fans. They are almost treated on sufferance, being told to stay away on more than one occasion.

Definitely not Abbey, slow, no overtaking and can only see very limited amount. Copse great for the start, although as already been said you are a long way away and quite high up so the impression of speed is subdued. The stand at Becketts/Maggots/Chappel it's probably the furthest from the action but is the best place to be see the amazing speed and direction changes of a fully loaded F1. Having watched from the complex, woodcote, luffield I always thought the stand on the infield just after Bridge and before Priory (I think) looked the best. Cars full chat through bridge, massive breaking for priory, opportunity for a good lunge up the inside and you can see the complex.
Anyone watched from there?
