I can't help feeling that Simon Fuller's presence isn't helping Hamilton.

2) Building Brand Hamilton is taking a bigger role than sitting in the fastest car.
Haven't his management said at some point that want to make Hamilton the next Beckham?

In which case he's only due to underachieve from now on and then bugger off to the US? NASCAR here he comes hehe

I was going to type some NASCAR related ramblings on here yesterday, I'm glad I'm not alone in thinking he'll be driving stock cars round in circles in a few years time.....

As for Hamilton's credibility, as we all know he proved to be a cheat and a liar. Unless that wasn't his fault either?

Oh, what, the thing about being overtaken under yellows?

Jesus. One little fib and he's a 'liar and cheat'? Well, at least that makes him exactly the same as every other driver on the grid!

"If Lewis Hamilton does move to Mercedes from McLaren for next season, as Eddie Jordan believes he will, it would be a massive shock but not a huge surprise".

Huh?

Who is this Andrew Benson?

McLaren have not won a WCC for a very long time and the 2008 WDC was by just one point. The 2009 and 2011 cars were dogs at the start of each season and this year they seem a long way from capitalising on the great car that arrived at Jerez.

McLaren are always “in the title hunt”, but seemingly always the bridesmaid and never the bride. The 07 and 08 cars were probably still strongly influenced by Adrian Newey and since he left, Coughlan and Fry have followed. Toyota proved that corporate design strategies in F1 do not work. All you need is just one genius.

Mercedes have been putting a lot of key personnel in the right positions. LH and NR obviously work well together so why not? If you are not going to win a WDC, then maxing income and keeping the odd cup, may be a greater motivatior than constantly being compared (unfavourably) to JB.

The main thing that helped Red Bull and may well help a different team come 2014 is a big rule change. With that everyone is starting from scratch rather than playing chase in a game you can never win. It's where Adrian Newey has always excelled best, he's always the 1st to see the loopholes and capitalise on new rules with his interpretations.

I agree. A fresh copybook might just give rise to a different pecking order, it would be great to see the 3 dead wigh teams become midfield contenders...
At the sae time, although he s very good, newey is not the only innovator in f1

Doubt it.

For all the man's faults, which these days appear to be almost on parity with his abilities, he is still one of the top 5 F1 drivers out there however you look at it.

That said, to my mind, I believe that he is having a hard time to stay in the top 3, whereas 3 years ago there would have been no doubt that he was in the top 2.

MAybe not this time, don't get me wrong I am sure his cars will be at the shape end of the grid. The engines will become the big difference, aero rules will be very tight for 2014 with little room for change. hence the theory that being part of the works team would be of more benefit to a driver.
