Brands Hatch BTCC

I really am tempted to make the treck to Brands tomorrow, but not sure about the 5am start and 4 hour drive, let alone the traffic getting out and late finish!
But then I have been wanting to watch on the GP loop for years...
Ive been wanting to go aswel but it's a 6 hour treck for me which is to far. Atleast on tv you can see all the action and don't miss anything. Allthough the atmosphere of the final round in truxton when plato burned is hand was brilliant. But then I have been wanting to watch on the GP loop for years...
it's like waiting for Christmas!...well excited..
get up early to watch WTCC, then inbetween try to watch moto3 2 and 1, burn over to Donington to support my brothers racing and have some PR commitments to attend to...miss first BTCC race, but get home to watch race 2 then back to Donington (live 5 mins away) then try to get back to watch final race from comfort of home with beer....
Can't wait! my bro even said today given the choice he'd be watching BTCC tomorow rather than racing!! don't think he meant it..
Can't get enough Motorsport.

Really? That might be true now but certainly wasn't the case in the past.
It's the case now. He appreciates her giving him the start in motorsport he needed, but she hasn't funded him since the end of 2003, when his diabetes diagnosis meant him taking time out. Now he feels he shouldn't have to rely on her money. The same goes for fans suggesting they have whip rounds for him. If it's not sponsorship from a company or a free drive, he's not willing to "waste" anyone's money like that. IainW said:
That's what motivates me less nowadays. It was an easy decision to go when you only saw it on TV the week or two weeks after.
The price of fuel + ticket + burger adds up quite a bit too, especially when most of your mates hate motorsport! How bad is traffic getting out of Brands? We went to the first round in 2007 and I dont remember it being horrific.
edit: weather looks fun http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/forecas...

Hmmm. That's the end of him then.
He reckons he only need to find another 60% of next year's budget from somewhere. Wonder if that's in a Hughes-subsidised drive. If he gets fed up trying the BTCC, he could go back to British GTs. Plenty of rich drivers after a quick pro teammate there.Ponk said:
Looks set to be a good day's racing tomorrow.
Why on earth doesn't Tony Hughes get Paul O'Neill in that car full time?
Looks like Ollie is in for a long day at the office.
Not as bad as you might think! It's a tight grid, sadly neate blocking the pit lane cost us a run on our last set of tyres which we're confident would have given us a few more tents and a more glamorous spot. Why on earth doesn't Tony Hughes get Paul O'Neill in that car full time?

Should be fine tomorrow, we've got a good car and we're not getting ruined in the speed traps thanks to some fairly aggressive mapping so ill be able to race!!

I assumed you were being mugged in the speed traps again. Good luck for tomorrow!
Glad they're using the Grand Prix circuit. My favourite UK circuit with one exception, the 37 mile Mountain Circuit on the Isle of Man.
With a wet race called, I've had a minor 'interest' bet on Andrew Jordan @ 5-1 and Mat Jackson @ 20-1. Obviously with the way the points are stacked for the top three before race one, drivers will be really trying for more points than the others.
Any obvious unfair 'nudges' or plain bad driving should be penalised big time. Too much blind eye turning in the past so hope that does not continue.
