Horrific smash for JC. Having seen V8SC from close quarters recently, they are hugely quick and carry serious momentum. Lucky boy, though I think he has a cracked fibia from what I read on Twitter today...
Massive amount of energy in that one! Didn't realise he took more than just a knock, I saw Nick Percat saying on Twitter today he's replacing JC in Sydney.

That looks a bit like the hill climb at Wiscombe Park. Don't know if it is though.

Pebble Beach '56.

Here's another shot of the same corner -

"In this photo by Don Meacham; Bill, in Tom Carstens' HWM-Chevrolet "Stovebolt" leads out of Turn 4 at the 7th Pebble Beach races, April 22, 1956. Following are Ernie McAfee in Bill Doheny's Ferrari 121LM, Phil Hill in John von Neumann's Ferrari 860 Monza, Carroll Shelby in Dick Hall's Ferrari 750 Monza, Pete Woods in his D-Type Jaguar, and Bob "Gus" Wittke in his Austin Healey."

I'm just doing my prep for an interview with a GT40 owner and racer. Got a bit distracted looking at old photos...

I know - and he was only young at the time wasn't he? Such a shame that car was destroyed (identity excepted). Love that he and his brother both owned Miuras at the same time as well!

Shared from a Facebook group called Oulton Park Racing.

John Foulston's Ferrari 312T:

And his Lola T530 - one of my absolute favourite race cars. Look at the size of the bloody thing!

Foulston's Lotus 72:

Willie Green in the 72:

1969 Gold Cup:

David Ellis's mighty Aston V8. So sad I only saw this race once.

1990 round of the EARS/MN Rally Championship apparently. 6R4s vs Darrians - awesome!

Isn't it just? I've only ever seen a T530 once in the flesh. Nick Whale drove one in a very early Goodwood Festival of Speed - probably about 1995. I was only a child at the time so didn't quite appreciate what I was seeing, but it made a big impression on me and I can still remember it pretty well.
