There are quite a few retro liveries appearing at the weekend with it being the 50th anniversary of the first Great Race.

888 are going to be running the Craig Lowndes car with a Peter Brock-style livery as well. A few others teams have made smaller changes for the race as a tribute to the anniverary.

Well the excitment is building here! They have reports and interviews on nearly all radio and tv stations here, just cant imagine this sort of coverage for a motor race event at home , they really seem to know how to build up the excitment.

I think the live youtube stream is meant to start at midnight on saturday into sunday. Could be an hour either side of that though, it's a guess. I'm going to try to watch as much as I can before I conk out on the sofa.
