Such sad news. There were many people in the UK who invested in the JW plc share scheme, and whilst it didn't produce the long F1 career that Justin deserved, it gave fans a unique opportunity to get close to an F1 driver and share in his success. It was an innovative way of raising sponsorship and building a fan base - long before social media and crowd funding.
After F1, to watch him succeed for many years in Indycar was a pleasure.
Thoughts with his family, friends and also the Palmer/MSV team who invested heavily in adopting, promoting and championing Justin's considerable talent.

They're not pack racing on ovals though, which is where any fluid leak would present the most serious problem. Probably not the discussion to be having right now, sadly. Always cheered for Justin Wilson, as he had that "spirit of the underdog" quality to him, and always seemed cheerful regardless of circumstance. He also kept that air of slightly awkward Britishness about him whilst over there, which I always enjoyed, especially when he won at Texas. Huge loss to the sport. Thoughts go to his family, and also to Sage Karam, as that's going to be hard to deal with.
Such sad news. I participated in the JW share scheme and met Justin a couple of times, once being at Goodwood with my son who was wearing one of the Justin Wilson investor polo shirts. Justin was delighted to see that and happy just to stop and chat.

Nice tribute that. (In case anyone else was worried to click thinking it was carnage-fest.)Never knew him or met him, but was a fan and supporter when he was in F1 and was extremely sorry to hear the news. RIP.

Indeed, I often thought of Justin in this way - the awkward Brit abroad sticking it to Uncle Sam on his home turf whilst secretly craving roast beef & yorkshire pud. Very sad news to wake up to, RIP.
