Right rear then front right slap against the wall exiting turn 3 into the short run to 4, broke the front wing and it punctured the front left tyre.

Is qualifying being streamed live for free anywhere?, I’ve been watching the practice days on the Indy Race Control but can’t get Qualifying today?

BT Sport ESPN appear to have a 2hr show tonight at 9pm - presumably highlights

I don't think it is possible to legally watch qualy outside the US frown

Something to do with ABC having the rights and streaming it on their own channel, which of course isn't available outside the US

Even the ABC live show is 9pm (UK time) I think that's the fastest qualifiers live runs to decide the top 3 rows not highlights.

Although its raining right now, the gasoline alley cam now - https://www.indianapolismotorspeedway.com/at-the-t...

Hinch out - that is a surprise ! Not so unexpected is that Pippa Mann failed to make the cut too

I live in Indy and the word here among the local journos is that Jay Howard will get kicked out of his car after qualifying and his ride will be given to Hinch. Bloody shame if that's true and a big blow for Jay who is an Indy boy himself these days and a nice bloke.

Yes - one of the odd Indy rules is that it is the car which qualifies, not the driver.

I don't think Hinch will be happy doing it, but taking over Howard's car is probably the only way to keep his championship hopes alive. He's currently lying 5th in the championship, but the double points for Indy 500 would put him well down the ranking if he doesn't run. Howard only does the 500, so isn't concerned by championship standing

Sam Schmidt has said negotiations for Hinchcliffe to start are ongoing, but Jay Howard's ride is not an option. Honda are not happy as Hinch is their commercial spokesman, plus main sponsor Arrow are very unhappy - lots of corporate guests/packages etc.

Efforts to get Hinchcliffe in to the race appear to be over: USA Today.

So, is the speculation that because Hinch didn't qualify and subsequently couldn't get a seat for the 500, the corporate pressure (sponsorship) was asking quite forcefully for a head to roll?

I have always had the most immense admiration for Leena, but from Audi endurance racing to Indy seems like a retro step to me.

It's bright and sunny in Indy this morning with temps due to go into the 90's at race time.

I've got a feeling in my gut that Danica just might do it.......................

I feel like going out now and buying a Silverado then driving to an Aussie Rules Outback steak house using my American Express card then blogging about it on a Go Daddy website.
