The only reason he wasn't at Renault before is because Flav said he didn't want two drivers under his managment on his team.
He manages Alonso and Fisichella.

But Juan Pablo was consistently faster in races and in qualy than Raikonnen in the 2nd half of this season, so how come you said KR was faster?

I think JPM is one of the most exciting drivers in F1, purely becuase he is a racer. Not enough of them around in F1 nowadays.

edit: I think you'rw wrong about Webber too!

yes he was fast, he drove into the back of montiero at great speed. exciting is one thing, winning championships is another. Villeneuve would never have been world champion against people like Prost and Piquet but he would have been far more fun too watch! Webber has not set the world alight like he was expected to do so. he showed himself to be capable of driving round in the top eight all season, no more but no less. Lets have Kovalinen, Rosberg, Hamilton and Paffett shake up the establishment, i mean if Fisichella can get a drive in 2006 after this year anyone can!

Next few years should be good - Shoey! giving it one last blast - they will be good this year. Andthen all the new faces and you bloods for next 3 or for years. Bring it on. Alonso is BLOODY GOOD - made Kimi look average when the title was one - was coasting in late season to get it sealed.

Flavio's management of Fisichella ended when the Giancarlo (was) moved to Jordan for 2002.

I must be mistaken. Why was Briatore saying in 2004 that he would not let Webber and Fisichella both drive for Williams?

I thought that Zanarini manages Fisi - in fact I am very sure he does...you always see him holding an umbrella up for his charge at GPs...

What amazes me about this (and whilst I was not surprised to hear that Alonso was leaving Renault - I was very surprised it was for McLaren and not Ferrari) is that Briatore and Dennis have managed to do a deal together - imagine how long negotiations took!...let alone the hard commercial heads these guys have - who translated "Ronspeak" into "Flavspeak"?...Martin Brundle I guess.

So Flav's promise to Heikke Kovalainen looks like coming true and we have to assume that Ghosn is going to pull the plug in 2007 or perhaps 2008...and the smart money has to be on David Richards picking up the team, lock stock etc.

Surely Ferrari will now announce that Raikkonen is joining them in 2007, following the retirement of Schumacher...

BTW anyone want too buy a copry of the 1997 Concorde agreement?...

Ask Teppic rightly corrected me, Zanarini is indeed GF's manager. I am bemused by Briatore's statement of intent regarding Fisi's '05 options, but not enough to check out the source.
With regard to Briatore's and Dennis's doing a deal together, on today's Autosport website Bernie has a few comments on the matter, the essence of which is that Briatore knew nothing about it until after the fact, if he had known beforehand he would never have allowed it, and that, in Bernie's opinion, Ron ought to have informed Renault and let the two firms make a joint announcement about the Alonso signing, but he didn't because the two principals can't stand each other and this was a little Christmas present from Ron to Flav.

To add more to that - Briatore has been quoted as saying that he did know what Alonso wanted to do but didn't get involved in the discussions - which were pursued directly between Alonso and McLaren. As for BCE - he's just stirring it up with RD, whom he dislikes.

As to Lewis Hamilton, RD was quoted earlier this year as having told Hamilton that continued McLaren patronage could not be taken for granted...I guess that all changed when Hamilton cleaned up in F3. McLaren have a rather nice problem - a surfeit of very talented youngsters, no doubt signed up for the long term and for cheap money...but Paffett would do well to keep in mind what happened to Heidfeld and indeed to Mario Haberfeld (although I always thought that there was a massive gulf in talent between those two)
