I've often thought that some of the circuit commentators would be good - Brian Jones from Brands maybe.

Brundle i think, is also good enough to carry the "lead role" so why not pair him with another former driver - Warwick? McCarthy? Herbert?

Indeed.
One is happy to hear what Brundle has to say because the man has insight, going beyond merely reciting what one can see with one's own eyes (that is, apart from the times when Allen mistakenly asserts things that are contrary to what one has just seen with one's own eyes).
Also, Brundle is not a slavering Ferrari worshipper.

Put simply, Brundle adds to the experience. Allen at best parrots it, and often get in the way.

Yes, but Brundle's style is to interject or elaborate on the main commentary. As such I don't think he'd do as well as the main commentator. I like him the way he is.

To we actually need a main commentator who drones on, states the obvious, and annoys us?
How about Brundle making comments when he has something worth saying, with a default to silence?

With some better on-screen graphics, I totally agree. Actually I'd be more interested to have a live feed from Charlie Whiting's mic (similar to the ref-link in rugby union). Now that would be interesting!!

agreed with the above - get some decent on-screen information / pit radio etc - there's so much more that we *could* get access to if bernie just laid down the law and decided to update the feeds - and brundle doing the rest.

Nothing wrong with the bloke in my opinion.

Anyone following Murray Walker was obviously going to get slated but lets face face it MW was not averse to the odd howler was he?

Fact is he's on a hiding to nothing - F1 ain't exactly wildly exciting at the best of times!

Eddie Irvine? At least he may say something funny once and a while. I did say 'may'.....

But hell yes, Allen should go, he's an idiot, he completely ruined Jenson's first win with his loud mouth tabloid-esque shouting...

Irvine would be embarasing just look at him on that shite show the race!!!
cock!!!

Ben Edwards is the man as far as proven presenters goes
however a brundle blundell bounce off eachother type show would be worth a try.
it would be miles better than JA eitherway.

Johhny herbert may be a shout?? genuinly funny guy liked in the sport etc

As for the chap bemoning Murrays frailties and the inevitability of JA getting flack..... its nothing to do with us all loving MW and therfore JA never had a chance. he is just crap, if you like him , fair play, however you seem to be at odds with this thread, this forum, this country, and this sport,
perhaps you know something we don't, or are a LOT easier pleased (sarcastic)

And Schumacher's retirement. I wanted to hear it from Schumi, not via James 'The Crowmiester' Allen.
