Excellent.
I can only hope the grassy bank on the inside of the Old Hairpin is reinstated. Spent many a happy day there.
'Fraid knot. It was removed when they started to do the infield loop for the "new" GP circuit. Its now a (very steep) muddy area without even the Spitfire. ![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)
When it opens, you wont have any access to the inside...for now.

I'd like to think that I could watch the action from the outside of Coppice again. Haga sliding both wheels on his aged Yam through there was a very prodigious sight.![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)

It seems that Adroit are no longer the leaseholders, anyone know what's happening?
This article implies that they still are.....http://www.constructionenquirer.com/2010/08/16/con...
Mrs Hui
There was a tiny article on the local news last night about it, but nothing more was said and i cant find any reference to it. It was one of those "and we're getting news that...." at the beginning.
Its here:

16 min 30 sec onwards: Adroit group "no longer in charge"

It was on BBC Radio Derby last night. It was a sketchy report but it suggested that the lease holder had split from the owners and everything was back up in the air again. I can't find any links but I heard it "wiv me own ears".
However I have been unable to find anything that would corroborate it anywhere.

PRESS RELEASE
17 August 2010
Donington's back
Following the return of racing to Donington Park the circuit is now set to move forward in the next stage of its development. Operation of the circuit will transfer to Donington Park Racing Ltd (DPR) from the Worcestershire based Adroit Group, the company responsible for successfully managing the reopening of the circuit following the failed bid to host the F1 British Grand Prix.
DPR Ltd, was set up in 1953 by founder Tom Wheatcroft, and since 1970 managed and promoted motor racing at the historic Leicestershire circuit.
“I am delighted the option has been taken up for Donington Park Racing to once again operate the circuit” said Kevin Wheatcroft, Chairman of DPR and owner of the Donington Park Estate. “Racing at Donington is back and we can now assure an exciting future for the circuit and the venue.
“I would like to personally thank the Adroit Group for their tireless efforts in helping to re-open Donington. We are delighted with the first stage of improvements.”
Racing returned to Donington Park last weekend after the circuit passed crucial safety inspections and a full programme of events is now planned “It’s a momentous time for all forms of motor sport to see Donington return to the calendar , it has been sorely missed” said Robert Bryant, Chairman of the Classic Racing Motorcycle Club, the organisers of the first event at the newly opened circuit.

Not quite sure how that works so were adroit just contractors or did they have the lease and DPR have brought it back? 17 August 2010
