I'm still not convinced.

I spoke to our marketing director earlier about sponsership....he explained that marketing budgets are planned up to 6 months or longer ahead....and all avilable marketing money is allocated - If I gave them 6 months notice then they would have helped me....but not for the whole amount.
....It's a very sensible argument as to how finding sponsership in a couple of weeks will not be the easy task that they implied.
....and of course, signing the documents makes you liable for the £3700 with only a very short time in which to get it....everything is just so rushed - no fixed dates...vague location.
3 people, who are much older nad wiser than me...aren't convinced either.

So I'm not doing it now....will be interested in how the others get on though.

Well I'd wear a dress for a shot in an F1 car (and you can quote me on that) but blindfolded??? Now presumably you'll have someone guiding you via radio but any over-correction at those speeds could have you in all sorts of trouble... Crazy, but then I don't hold any World Records!

We at Record Breakers wish to thank Patrol Ted for his work and time in investigating us thoroughly to ensure PH Members are not drawn into any scams.

We pride ourselves in our friendly co-operative service to ensure all our challengers have a great time and raise needed funds for charity.

We now have four Girls who have taken up the F1 challenge. We no longer require anymore and thank all the others for their interest.

The Girls have a press photo shoot next Wednesday in the Tyrrell and with our F1 Driver/Trainer. We will email there photos to PH so you can follow their progress.

It's clear that Condor has never raised charity sponsorship funds before, but did not bother to contact us for help or guidence (strange). She was clearly doomed to succeed from the start. None of our challengers have 2 weeks to raise funds as the last challenge date is in September!. A simple call to us would of answered all her questions!!!

In the event that a challenger finds fundraising difficult, our own fundraising team, along with the charity fundraising team assist them. Fortunatley in Condor's case we are all spared the time and effort.

We are all very excited to see if one of PH Members becomes the new blindfolded land speed record holder. The next stage in F1 training in France we will keep you informed of their progress.

You can see a full feature on Record Breakers in NUTS magazine later this month.......

I'm not impressed with your rather snide remarks either.

Advertised Wednesday...and you told me the World record challenge would take place the first week in June. Details arrive Thursday...which on signing commit you to paying £200 immediately before the place on photo shoot the next Wednesday was confirmed...also committing to get a minimum sponsership of £3700.

So within a very short time, committing myself to paying nearly £4000 just on a phone call..an advert and a web-site. Never pay money up front has been drummed into me at a very early age...and I listened to advice from 3 people who's views I respect.

I would have been brave enough to do the challenge...but wasn't brave enough to commit myself to spending £4000 with no guarantees. I can't afford to lose that amount of money.

The other girls obviously were and I wish them luck in the challenge ...I will be following it with great interest

The first target date for the challenge is the first week in June and the last Challenge date is the last week in September. Not diffecult to understand!

The sponsorship funds are paid direct to the charity which of course would pay back your sponsores should you not raise all the funds.

If you could'nt afford your reg fee, we could of helped you. But you clearly chose not to ask or seek infomation. Are you a well person?

The previous record holder raised £100,000 for charity! Clearly a brave and committed person.

I do not intend to make any further comments with you I have a life to lead........

I'd be interested in the answer to one question (can you be bothered I wonder?).

If you are representative of a professional organisation, how is it you choose to conduct your business by directing cheap insults at someone who has expressed legitimate concerns at the ambiguity of information supplied by you and your company? A retraction and full apology are in order, I'd say.

And could you possibly have a look at your spelling and grammar - marketing dear boy.

Condor does deserve an apology as my remarks was harsh. At the time of reading her messages on PH, stating that we are asking people to raise funds in two weeks and implying that she could lose £3700 if she could not. This is not only untrue but slanderous.

She has received a 13 page document which clearly states that all sponsorship funds are paid direct to a national charity, the charity was also instrumental in formulating the agreement. Further more, the agreement has been approved by the Charity Commission who are the governing body of charitable organisations.

The contract Record Breakers have with the Charity was produced by the Institute of fundraising. These endorsements could not come from a more legitimate source.

I still am astonished that a 44 year old woman would rather scare monger, then read through the paperwork thoroughly, or at least call us to clarify these matters.

It is absurd to think that a challenger who can not raise enough sponsorship funds, would lose their sponsors money, all charities would reimburse each sponsor, unless they state otherwise.

Our F1 challengers include a Lawyer, a Journalist and even a Politician who are completely happy with our criteria along with all the other people. We are very aware that people do have different circumstances, therefore we are always happy to be flexible and assist those who require help in anyway. For us to do this, we have to receive a call, which in this case never come.

However, I do publicly apologise to Caroline and she is very welcome to come along to our F1 challenge day to see the event take place and enjoy our FREE hospitality.

If any PH member wishes to discuss this matter or any other matters regarding Record Breakers, please call me on 0870 224 224 5 during normal office hours.

I am delighted to report that Record Breakers have got the support of the motoring Telegraph who sponsor F1 Racing on ITV. You can read the review this saturday on the front page. Hopfully it will include a feature on Nightmares partner Jenny who has taken up our F1 Challange to be the fastest female in the world blindfolded!

Another success story is Sam's partner, Leean who is our 2nd female challenger. She has already raised £250 for charity today. We are also very pleased that the Showbiz editor of Zoo Weekly is covering the story of Leean in there Mag later this month.

If you want to put faces to these two brave challengers, take a look on our photo gallery www.recordbreakers.co.uk

Another of Matt, next to the F1 and his TVR Tuscan

Another with Leean with the F1 and her Noble, plus another of Jenny in the F1 Tyrrell.

I hope you all enjoyed the shoot and being around so many F1 cars.

Next its Press interviews and more photo shoot calls then it's all off to France for some serious F1 training. See you there.

Leean (PH Member) get's on the front page of the Watford Observer yesterday, this is going to be one of many front covers for Leean as she prepares for her F1 world record bid.

Check out the Motoring section of the Daily Telegraph this Saturday - It Features Jenny and Daniel (PH Members)who are doing the F1 Blindfolded Challenge.

If you want to get your company name and logo on the PH Members F1 and gain max exposure in the Press & TV, then why not sponsor one of our very brave challengers. A logo on the F1 starts from as little as £100.

You can email the PH members direct or give us a call 0870 224 224 5.

Press feature in today's Daily Telegraph

EYES WIDE SHUT

You could be just millimetres away from driving a real Formula One car at 200mph, with only a blindfold standing between you and a land speed record, In Aid of the charity British Blind Sport, the Record Breakers organisation is aiming to recruit 10 men and women to try and break the current 144.7mph record in a 1997 Tyrrell.

So far, only three female drivers have signed up for the challenge, and Record Breakers are eager to recruit more. The aim is to raise a minimum of £3,600 per competitor for the charity that co-ordinates and promotes sport for the blind or partially sighted.

Already signed up is the rocket scientist Jenny Kingston (pictured far right) a space systems research fellow at Cranfield University in Bedfordshire who has worked at the European Space Agency in Holland and French Guyana.

Joining her is Daniel Lanyi from London (pictured below), whose brother is partially sighted. ’I’ve always wanted to drive an F1 car and have always loved motor racing,’’ said Lanyi.’’This seemed like an opportunity to have that experience and it’s high-profile-if mildly unhinged - way of raising money for a thoroughly worthwhile charity’’. The entrants receive a weekend’s training at a private racetrack near Calais in various high-powered cars, before making an attempt on the record at Elvington Airfield in Yorkshire.

The speed that counts is an average taken from two runs, and the driver will be in constant communication with trainer-cum-racing driver Matthew Mortlock.

Each entrant will get their own colour scheme on the car, with the aim of attracting sponsors whose logos will help publicise the charity’s record attempt.

for more information contact Record breakers at www.recordbreakers.co.uk or call 0870 224 2245.

NOTE: Photo's of the Telegraph feature can be found on our website under the news section.

Gazboy - You clearly have never driven an F1 before, or at speeds in excess of 200mph.

The power in an F1 does not come in until 9000rpm, that's long after your J reg MR2 has run out of poke.

The power band climbs aggressively to 16000rpm. Controlling the power band is very difficult when you can see, let alone blindfolded.

All our challengers are very brave and charitable people for attempting the world record, And like any record holder, they encourage others to challenge them, that’s what being a world record holder is about!

How many world records do you hold?
