Jason O'Keefe or Spencer Vanderpal then (both in Gulf Oils colours, same team). If it Spencers car then I look after it on the race days and Spencer is racing the 24 race (car 74).

Simon,

I am based in Dubai and noted that your Honda is here (must be enjoying the sunny weather!!!!). Where is the car and will it be used in the UAE Touring Car Championship which starts the week after the BritCar 24 hr race?

Ian
Its been out there all year in the UAE Touring cars apparently. I believe its now painted in Gulf oil colours. Funnily enough (for us) they were complaining its their slowest Civic Type R (they have a few).

Rod, I realised just after my first post that I may have misconstrued the intent of the thread, but, what the hell, a trip down memory lane doesn't hurt, and, in our cases, that'a a prety long lane to stroll down.

Look forward to catching up with you at Silverstone - it's been a while.

You're not wrong about the long road, it's a bugger really, but I still think there are a few good years left for us all, as with business, I can't see myself retiring for many years yet, and as for racing,I'd have to be at, and almost through deaths door before I give that up hehe

Team Manager, Chief Mechanic and the drivers of car 74 are in the process of packing suitcases (must remember to take warm clothes) and travel bags ready to catch our flights from Dubai (1st driver leaves tomorrow).

The car is ready to race and will arrive at the circuit Wednesday evening.

So see you all next week.

i believe the last time I saw that tvr at silverstone the doors kept opening up and you had to tape them down so lets hope for better luck! ;-) My mistake if that was a different sagaris!

That was the one. We had the exhaust melting the door catch.

We have moved on a lot since then and cured that problem. We have had other problems but hopefully we have nailed them all. We are determined to finish the race (even if we have to carry it over the line)smile

We are there in force as of Wednesday hopefully.

As usual, best laid plans of having the car ready with a month to go went out the window! We are hoping for a bit more luck this year with the Mosler, and it will be interesting to see how the change in fueling process will affect things.

I too hope Mr Hood brings his TVR home for Sunday. They too are due a bit of luck. I am most concerned by the Austrian 997 that entered late. The car will definitely be quick, but more importantly, good on fuel.

Is it too early to start writing predictions? I will give it a go for starters....

Class 1 - No Comment!
Class 2 - Bryant Marcos/Jet Alliance Porsche
Class 3 - Jemco Ginetta
Class 4 - Brunswick BMW 130

Here's mine smokin

Class 1 Very fast, reliable and fuel efficient car.

Class 2 Fairly fast, reliable & fuel efficient car.

Class 3 Quick, reliable, fuel & tyre efficient car.

Class 4 Well paced, reliable, easy on fuel/tyres.

Common denominators: Well prepared car and happy committed team, consistent drivers, ability to sleep for 10 mins and wake up totally refreshed, (this little trick is only known to the over 55's who tend to cat nap or sofa sleep as a matter of course) hehe good food and drink supply, team members and drivers who know when to take a break, no macho bullst, good supply of cigars, perfect pit stop timing, no infringements, wife or girlfriend on the ears telling you how bloody marvelous you are, and finally, the unshakable belief that you will finish, and as that's the case you may as well finish first driving
