It looked like it was going to be a BTCC bit of news from the tweet, but no harm done really! Unless anyone else wants to sit glued to social media for snippets of info and copy paste st you've already seen on tentenths/twitter in to this thread searching for admiration as some form of BTCC bible, you should cut him some slack.
Fixed that for you.MG CHRIS said:
I didn't actually say motorbase set there btcc news tomorrow all I said was news from motorbase tomorrow.
Which could of been anything which is was.
If other want to read something else into it then I couldn't give a flying fk tbh.

So moving on [with some actual discussion];
Ciceley/Laser Mercs, BMR, 888, Eurotech, Motorbase - lots of testing action appears to be going on.
Team Dynamics - still building the cars, been using last years cars for some testing. They've been here before and still managed to come straight out swinging.
Houseman, RAR, Welch, HARD, Infiniti - from what I've seen, pretty much MIA. So are they testing under the radar or really just doing nothing.

The team "isn't in trouble" as mentioned. Ok, the BTCC effort may be scaled down for now - but the GT part of the team, with 2 or 3 GT3's operating in British GT and Blancpain Endurance, is booming.
A disappointment for BTCC fans I'm sure, but us GT fans are lucky enough to see the team race all across Europe & doing their stuff in the unique Dave Bartrum way.

Just gone on autosport too

shame to see such a long lasting and well supported team potentially disappear from btcc. is the bubble bursting and the realization that the NGTC cars aren't actually all that cheap and the one size fits all solution Alan Gow claims it to be?

They just haven't got a sponsor. It's good to jump to a dramatic idea instead though I suppose... http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/118093

BTCC has an issue with attracting sponsors and demonstrating VFM for those who invest in the series and this is a good example. Their GT business is doing well because drivers pay for the drives, but with BTCC costing more money to be competitive than GTs it's a tough sell for 'gentleman racers' unless they really want to be on TV.
Personally, I'd change the format to two races instead of three, and reduce the TV coverage so you watch race 1 delayed, then race 2 live and don't have to wade through hours of support races which only the die-hards are interested in.
Sad news with motorbase 2 top end car not being able to run. No matt Jackson or cole until half way through even if they do turn up. Im surprised they were allowed a tbl without the founding in place which was the reason the tbl in the first place was to stop teams saying they be there but not turning up.
Good to see the s3 back but nick Hamilton wasn't that impressive in clios a few years back so not so sure he really deserves to be on the grid but lets see.
Seen the pics of the audi could be new model from them bonnets looks different from the a4.

Don't forget testing costs as much as racing so maybe they are saving their budgets until it matters Ciceley/Laser Mercs, BMR, 888, Eurotech, Motorbase - lots of testing action appears to be going on.

Even in competitive club racing series, you can't hope to be in the mix just rocking up on race day and throwing some new rubber on. Never mind if you've made fundamental car changes, got a new engine supplier, whole new car etc
