Who and where?

It looksd early Formula Ford era (1967/68?).

Eric, I found this sequence months ago. I can't remember the details although I have a feeling that the information mentioned that the driver was an Argentinian.

I could go back and try to track the source down once more.....

......but I can't be bothered.

However, far be it for me to disappoint you Eric, Ph's National Treasure. So, here's another sequence for your enjoyment.

The driver is seen walking towards the ambiwlans ( wink ) in the last wideangle shot.

Don't worry. I was just curious. I like the way that spectators are sitting on the track side of the rather inadequate fence.

Not only am I impressed with that F40 crash, but I'm also imnpressed by the ability of the camera to take individual photos so quickly.

The car travelled so far, I would almost guess that the driver would have made the hospital without any need for the "ambwilans" (was the incident at Pembrey or Anglesey?)

It actually looks like Mid Ohio or some other US track.

yes

It's definitely an American track, I found the sequence on an American forum.

Pretty sure, but, like the previous sequence, I found it so long ago that my memory may be tricking me.

The Nissan looks like Mid Ohio - the same corner where that DBR9 went airborne at the ALMS race a year or so ago. I think its on youtube.

Completely O/T. Doug, have you noticed the latest N.London PH meet thread? Would be good to see you on the 29th?

Yep - Chris dropped me a line. Car is laid up at the moment. Managed to snap the throttle cable during a particulalrly spirited overtake last weekend but should have it fixed fairly sharpish.

Back on topic - two sadly missed Brits at full tilt

Such a testiment to the modern F1 car that there was no fire, and Kubica was racing again shortly after.
I remember when I saw that, I was watching the GP with some other veteran fans and I actually let out an inadvertant cry of 'no' when I saw the car airborne there. We all thought we'd just seen a fatality, thankfully he's still in one piece and a fantastic racer.
