Stockhatcher, would you mind if I used the first couple of minutes of this footage on my website to show the start of the race and how hectic it all was?

I was out with the Belfast Flyers in my Crossle and I have to say that this was the most fun I have ever had racing. The performance difference of some of the cars had to be seen to be believed and as someone has said just because the car may not be so quick through the bends does not mean the car does not have some serious straight line speed.

And visa versa! It feels like you're stationary in a Locost on the straights, but we have some fun in the corners with much quicker cars. If we had slicks I dont think we would need to brake!

nope you can put a team together of anything interesting, the 750mc will then consider it and might give you an entry... a bit like Le mans...

I've seend everything on track from pre war aston martin gp cars to radicals all at the same time..

Almost did it one year - glad I didn't as it was torential rain for the whole race.

Not fun at best of time but at Deepest Snett - better off at Home with a nice mug of tea.

Some day get a TVR team then.........

Another video from onboard the toy car, this time just a short clip of how not to take Copse Corner as demonstrated by a Crossle:

By the way, if you do look any of the 3 videos linked earlier then the second part is the best one.

Andy T who was driving the Crossle that hit the wall will be delighted to see that this has been captured for posterity...
I seem to recall at the time that he said someone in front had braked harder than expected.
Happy new year to one and all

It certainly looks like he jumps on the brakes rather hard and kinks to the left at the same time, as if to avoid something. I hope the damage to his car was only light.

That's the problem these days - no one can make a mistake without someone catching it on camera... As I've posted up someone else's mistake, I thought I'd let people have a laugh at my silly spins of 2006: http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?d

That looked like Tim Burnett's Dtype, he did seem to be wandering around a bit, maybe he was unsure which way Andy was going. Was there much damage to Andy's car?

It was great fun, we were in 2nd for some of the time but ended 6th after one of the cars was punted off and I had a puncture, definitely one for the calendar

I think from memory that the bodywork on Andy's Crossle was a little second hand but it should all repair.

Here's the truth... It's all Frank Grimley's (Morgan) fault. He was chasing me in a grudge match. No... I tell a lie it was Tim's fault. He was all over the place up the straight and pulled left just as we were going into the corner. No... hang on. I remember now. It was the guy in the camera car. My makeup wasn't right for the shot and I was trying to get my hair in place. No hold on. If you look really closely at the video you can see a couple of marshalls moving the barrier. Thus making the gap between Tim and the armco to small for me to get through. ...Buggered if I know.

Not too much physical damage... just pride... an upright and some bodywork.

Big thanks to Arnie and Crossle Cars.

Andy
