Mick @ Pristine has said he wants to get the bodyshell done sooner rather than later. There's a whole heap of flatting & prep work to be done to sort that dreadful paint out but after that, its just a case of methodically working through the mechanical stuff.
The new head has got to come back off to be checked. It was built up with half the head bolts missing, no oil spray bar and missing followers. It doesn't exactly instil me with confidence! The head was supposed to have been flowed & fitted with larger e34 inlet valves. We'll be checking that too. The coilovers will be coming off and the original Bilsteins and progressive rate springs will go back on. I never really wanted coilovers anyway, but with hindsight they were only ever fitted to try and cover for the fact nothing was getting done.
There's something about this car that I just can't put my finger on. It has real presence and everyone who's seen it, despite its current state, has said exactly the same. It's going to sound awesome too! I know it's old school engineering but it should make an easy 260+ bhp with a shed load of torque.

Glad to hear you're using the correct spec shocks & springs, pity you are not using the original EFI system as well. I say that as the car imo should be rebuilt as close to the original TWR spec as possible, both for posterity and future value. But hey, no matter it's still a great project. In part, yes.
The recent events just spoiled the whole thing and I simply don't feel motivated enough to keep on with it. I've listed it on eBay in the hope that it will reach someone who's prepared to finish it off. It will be an awesome car once done.
I'm putting a replica e30 M3 track car together which I plan to use next year and raise some donations to the Cornwall Air Ambulance. I have most stuff but need a 5 stud conversion kit and wheels for a start.

By you or A N Other?
I really do hope that the current owner (if not you) has half the passion and interest in this as you have shown.
My Father missed out on buying a Batmobile in the early '80's for peanuts, he literally saw it going in the opposite direction in the new owners hands a mile from the seller's house! Many 2002's (inc what the DVLA insisted was a 2002 Tii Touring which could not have been as there were only 2 RHD ever made in that spec, one destroyed, one owned by a Mr Moss) later he bought a 'normal' CSL and restored it to full glory at silly cost, including replacing the welded coke can boot floor... Eventually he sold it but his restoration experiences taught be that unless you have a money no object position then you will always end up with compromises and dealing with people promise the world and deliver little.

Going to be restored.
Anyone know the current whereabouts of this one, did anything happen to it after 2012?Chunkychucky said:

Here at Curborough in 1988 just before I sold it.
