British GT 2012 - looks like it will be a great year...
Discussion
I watched the Motors TV broadcast of the Oulton Park race last night.
Excellent spread of cars, although we have lost a few Ferraris (but I'm not sad to see the Geddies move on) - good to see the BMW Z4 apparently it sounds superb.
It will be interesting to see how Tim Harvey gets on in the series (whether you love or hate him), Michael Caine has come across from the Porsche Carrera Cup & hopefully Westbrook will be able to do the bulk of the races.
Man of the weekend has to be Allan Simonsen - can from nowhere in Race 1 after taking over from HL to finish second. He made progress through the pack in the wet that no one else was able to do. He is always the man to watch.
Richard Westbrook pulled some great moves too - my money is on Ashburn/Westbrook to win the series.

Excellent spread of cars.
Excellent spread of GT3 cars but totally overlooked GT4 which accounts for 1/4 of the grid in 2012, might not be as sexy but it's still 1/4 of the grid and we pay the same, it was well produced but certainly was not balancedExcellent spread of cars.

But it's the same with British F3 - the National Series gets little attention (and they are the cars but from the previous year...)
However, you are not ignored - there is always footage of the cars & at some point most of the drivers have been interviewed. Phil Glew appears to be a perennial favourite.
But now I know that that you are a PH'er, I will follow your progress with interest
Yep, fully understand the appeal of GT3 over GT4, but GT4 pays the same price give or take a few £hundred over a season, none of this is cheap and we rely in part on on the exposure to sell this to sponsors and to justify the costs for our busineeses, the exposure should be apportioned to the size of the grid, if it's 1/4 then 1/4 of the exposure time, if it;s less then less, I just think it should be balanced, not just for our team but for all the teams and all drivers in GT4 and GT3 for that matter.....off

Completely agree, I really love the gt4 cars, was bit miffed they didnt show more of the gt4s. And I'm not even bias...If you're about come and say hi
Just out of interest, whats the main changes that have to be made to a supercup g50 to make it gt4, is it pricey?
Many thanks and good luck!

Hopefully it'll balance out as the season progresses.....Main differences over Supercup G50 cars are larger brakes, 3.7 engine, bigger tank etc and wider rear wheel, its basically a G55 without the aero....70k + the dreaded new, they're great cars, in the dry I think it's a strong package but in the wet the Lotus are stronger with all their driver aids & aero etc.......cheers, come and say hi if you're about
Yeah will do mate, good luck in Germany! Thanks for the g50 info have been wondering for a while! Gassing Station | General Motorsport | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
