Bo Peep Hillclimb (Firle East Sussex)
Discussion
This is just a heads up to inform people that the Firle Hillclimb is being revived and will take place on the 20th September.
Some of you may be old enough to remember this, I live nearby so used to go and watch it in the sixties, unfortunately it closed in 1967 just when I got my driving licence so I was never able to take part.
It sounds like it will be a bit "Revival" in style and will be open to cars from the fifties to the eighties, the website is www.bopeepdriversclub.com if anyone wants any more information.
I'll be going along to take a look this year and hopefully if my nephew gets his Anglia finished we might enter next year.

I don't know the people who are running this but I have a feeling that they are possibly beginners at event organisation, it looks like they just didn't think of providing directions.
Travelling from West to East along the A27 from Lewes towards Eastbourne you will come to a small village called Selmeston, just after that is a crossroads and Bo Peep Lane is the right turning, just follow that up and the hill is at the end.
Travelling from East to West the first landmark is Drusillas crossroads then the left turn towards Alciston, the crossroads is the next thing you come to with obviously a left turn into Bo Peep Lane.

If anyone can tell the organisers - their website doesn't say WHERE it is.

Yes, a bit annoying to clash with Kop Hill, although they are far enough apart that they won't be competing. As it happens I can't go to either this year - I can go for months without anything interesting happening and there are there are 5 things on that weekend and I can only go to one!

The website does say "Bo-peep Lane, .....Just off the A27 close to the Barley Mow" and a few seconds with Google Maps gets it spot-on.Shame its the same date as Kop Hill climb in Bucks.

I went along yesterday morning and had a very pleasant couple of hours looking at and listening to an eclectic mix of vehicles, everything from an original Moggie 1000 to a Funny Car Dragster, from a 1920's Bentley to a Ford A Hot Rod and from a Beach Buggy to a Ferrari Dino.
The actual Hill Climb is difficult to see as there are very few areas to watch from on the hill but I took a lot of photos in the paddock and when I load them from my phone into my computer I will post them in the other thread I started in the Events and Meeting Forum, probably tomorrow now.
