You can state that its possibly a wrong story?

I think you are right; I have e-mailed the writer and he is going to check his facts. Ted says he is wrong so hopefully they will sort it. However the writer concerned is usually correct! We will have to wait and see.

I've not seen MN yet today. I understand it contains a story saying the Tuscan Challenge is being axed - is this what is on page 10?

Its difficult for me to comment without seeing the story. I also do not know TVRs detailed plans.

My limited understanding is that TVR will be running and fully supporting a TVR race series in 2005 which will have the Tuscan Challenge cars at its core and will also cater for any race prepared TVR.

In other words, this is a very positive move.

I am told TVR will be making a formal press announcement soon and had asked that the story was not run until plans were finalised and the press release made. But there you go.

Its no more axing the Tuscan Challenge than Caterham's plans to combine the R400s and Roadsport A's into a single series.

I am also told that TVR intend to bring costs down for competitors, which can only have a positive impact on grid numbers.

But that's all I know!

Andy,

I think you best buy a copy ASAP. Then you can read it and reply!

I think he might be referring to the headline on Page 10 - "TVR Tuscans Axed".

What a shame.

Oh great, so now you're quoting me to the author of the article

From what you've told me it's along the right lines but not entirely correct. And don't quote me!

Hi Ted,

I did not quote you. The only thing I said was that John Kent won the Challenge 1995.

Dont Forget tasmins... First run by Colin Blower and his indestructable Socks in the 80's

plus the 3000m

and the LE Mans Grantura ...

now that would be a grid...

We could see 40 plus TVR's on the grid!

I feel the future is bright for Tuscans and TVR's in motorsport. Tuscans will be able to race at the front in 3 good series. The TVR Challenge, The TVRCC Challenge and Britcar. It should be remembered that 2 members on this site put in a good showing in the Topcats car and finished 2nd overall in Britcar.
