New TVR GT team arrives

Sebring Motorsport reveals 2005 racing plans

New TVR GT team Sebring Motorsport has announced its plans for the coming racing season. With its TVR Sagaris, it will be contesting the Spanish GT Championship and selected races in Northern Europe including the Grand Prix circuits at Spa Francorchamps and Silverstone.

Sebring said it "will work closely with TVR and partners to develop the car and associated high performance technologies. The Sagaris is a 400+bhp, 200 mph high technology thoroughbred that will take on the world’s best drivers at some of the world’s best tracks …and win."

Drivers will be Nathan Freke and Niki Faulkner. Freke was the European Championship Race winner at Donington last year, and is the only British driver to win an FIA Kart event in 2004's third European 250cc Superkart Championship. He's a triple Superkart champion, winning in all three previous years.

Faulkner has won races at Monza, Spa and Donington as well as an Endurance race win at Mallory Park. As well as racing in multiple championships in the last five years, in 1996 he was the youngest driver selected by Ford Motorsport for the TOCA Ford Credit Fiesta Championship.

Leading the team are Denis Baddeley, team principal, James Crofts, team manager, and Graeme May as chief engineer, all experienced in their fields.

I'll be interested to see how this does against the Spanish GT teams. They'll love the look, but it'll be a challenge.

Fair play, good series to enter though.
