Who's going this weekend? I'll be there on Sunday to cheer on the 'PH Britcar Club'! Was gonna bring my tent and camp overnight but a wisdom tooth extraction on Friday has dented those plans somewhat.

As it's been fairly quiet on here since Brands I thought I'd ask who's been preparing, repairing and generally fettling for this weekend? There were a few dramas last time out so how's everyone doing?

Hi,

My first post here on pistonheads.

Hello Jay!

Splendid place for your first post! As you say, Britcar is a cracking series and improving all the time as more and more interesting cars enter.

What colour's your Alfa? Will look out for you on Sunday.

Enjoy PistonHeads!

What a race!! That really was a 5 hour epic! Superb action all the way through from where I was standing (Russell chicane mostly although we did go for a wander alongside the Revett straight and up to Riches. The Falcon sounds mega on the straight!)

There was some really committed drivers out there, especially Barry Horne, Nigel Greensall and Calum Lockie who, I've decided, is a bloody lunatic! The speed he attacked the chicane in the Ferrari was mind-blowing.

Huge comiserations to Top Cats for coming oh so close to a superb win. None of the Marcos drivers looked that quick but it just goes to show what 3 quick and equally matched drivers can achieve.

Treated myself to a Nikon D70 on Saturday with a 300mm zoom thoroughly enjoyed my day running off over 500 shots!!! Here are some of my favourites.

d_drinks, so close etc...

Henry, enjoyed the chat before the race. Thanks for taking the time out. Still thinking about that 944 but in the meantime, I can definitely recommend the D70! What do you reckon?

Simon, came over to say hello but when I got to your pit you appeared to doing some impromptu repairs to driveshaft using a fg big hammer! So I left it... Maybe at Brands eh? BTW, great powerslides out of Russell! Proper little mover that Lotus!

Nutskie, your man Lockie's a loon! What an awesome driver! He was very exciting to watch and had more than his fair share of 'Oh sh...' moments...

...like this one! Top man.

And finally, a bit of off-roading from Jeff Wyatt's BeeEm...

...and the hugely fast Ford Falcon.

See you all at Brands!

Edited to add jay-cannonball, nice to meet you mate! See you another round somewhere no doubt!

Watch out with that last photo of the Falcon Gary. Jonathan (Palmer) will be charging them for some grass seed !!

Good job he didn't try that a move a season or 2 ago, IIRC that used to be a beach there, didn't it?

That was a bit of a result, Henry, with the re-re-classification of your Porsche! Wonder what class they'll put you in at Brands?

The race winners on Sunday: Nigel Greensall and Ian Dockerill, despite Nigel hitting the pitlane limiter on the penultimate lap and driving through the pits thinking he ahd a problem!

I was driving a black radical prosport (no.14)with my dad. We retired from race 1 on saturday from 2nd in class with a electrical problem, then came from the back of the grid to finish third in class and 5th overall on Sunday

Here you go...

Also, if the rumours from the weekend are true '06 is going to be awesome in Britcar....

Aha, so would this be linked to the story in Autosport today (26th May) regarding the British GT series and it's impending tyre deal? If so, and the stories carry substance then indeed Britcar will be a storming series (championship??) next season! Looks like James Tucker has got an ace up his sleeve called Dunlop...
