I thought that we could have a separate thread just for today's meeting...

I know that the BTCC has a general thread, but it would to be nice to cover the meeting as a whole.

Support races:
Porsche Carrera Cup
Vertu Mini Challenge
F4
Legends
Radicals

Nice lake forming in the gravel trap bottom of craner curves !
Good start to the season... Craner curves into Craner lake.
Plus, the track will be extra slippery due to the nearby airport.

I’ve never understood the airport thing, are we to believe planes spray aviation fuel all over the surrounding area?
I know that it used to be a problem in the past...current aviation fuel must to be a lot cleaner.

How does it get out of the plane?
It must fall out when the wheels are down. getmecoat

Looks no worse than knockhill last Sunday where multiple grids of club racers managed to have a great day's racing without much incident.
Maybe they are being a bit cautious, as it's on National TV.

Big thumbs up to Jade... Doing a great job.
Baptism of fire...obviously, she has good insight about the drivers & teams, it's also nice to hear the views of a driver from the current era.

Ahhh... finally some racing.(2023).

A mixed up grid in mixed conditions... It's going to be interesting.
( It's GO, GO, GO...).

Very relieved to see the driver walk away from that legends car. The way his head shook around as it landed was horrific.
thumbup... coming to a dead stop like that would certainly have produced a few G's.

Using Jade as a pundit... seems like a good role for an unemployed driver.
(No doubt... a few quid in the pot as well).

The pit lane seemed quite hectic with just nineteen cars...sounds like it will be twenty four max.

As said grids won't get much bigger. They committed to 24 years ago and have been slowly getting there but the demise of Hard and One taking a sabbatical pushed it under faster than expected.
I'm quite happy to accept quality & exciting racing over quantity.
Twenty four will be plenty...

I think that the some of the circuits struggle with the size of the pits & the teams infrastructure... hence the twenty four car limit.

Also helps not have the tail end cars half way round a corner for the start with the fully staggered grid.
Go back to the old 3 - 2 - 3 grids.

Whilst its still fresh on my mind... those live lifts are a bit butt clenching.

I quite agree with Paul O' Neill's comments & hope that he didn't get his knuckles rapped by Mr Gow... too hard anyway.

It will be interesting to see how. Nick will compare to Tom & Ronan as the season progresses.
