Nice car to go touring in! Hope the weather holds out for you wavey
Are you still up here? If so there is a killer pot hole about 200 yards before you reach Shieldaig (from the Torridon direction). Keep your eyes peeled. It's taken out two cars this week so far.

Whoops, seems Visit Scotland have finally fessed up the picture they use to advertise the NC500 isn't actually of the route at all:

GetCarter, isn't this one of your photos they bought despite you telling them it isn't part of the route?

Yep, this one is mine, and yep, I told them several times that it wasn't on the route, but they said it wouldn't matter as it was a 'generic' pic.

I wasn't going to argue as they were paying!

I hit a corker last week on the A82 along the side of Loch Lochy, couple of miles or so north of Spean Bridge, £200 wheel repair nono..and I also forgot to repack my locking wheel nut key cry

Condition of the roads up there at the moment is pretty bad, much worse than last Autumn, guess the harsh winter is to blame. Road repair authorities do need to be more diligent though.

FYI It's the bike race round the Bealach tomorrow. Don't even think about driving it between 10:00 and 15:00.

Dodged that one. Caught a few others though. Its pretty bad up there, even on some of the trunk routes.

Fortunately no damage, though at some point it did rattle the front badge off frown

PS, a lot of new build taking place round your way!

Flying into Inverness tomorrow to pick up 5 budget rentals plan is as follows

Heading south to Fort William then acorss to Kyle of Loclash and Applecross
Saturday will be a long day heading all the way to Durness with lunch in Ullapool
Sunday back down through Lairg past Inverness into the Cairghorns before a late flight home.

Saturday looks to be the best day weather wise but traction in a VW Up/fiat 500 is rarely an issue

Not such a long day as you may think. I did 100+ miles this morning in 2 hrs much of which was on that route. Really depends when you drive. I hardly saw a car first thing, but the later you drive the more you'll get held up.

Have fun.

Kylesku yesterday: Two blats turned up. 200BHP.com and a bunch of fezzas and porkers.

The owner of Ghille Brigdhe in Diabaig has posted on his Facebook page that's there's a wildfire on the go due to a couple of idiot tourists.

How thick do you have to be.

Yep. We can see the smoke from here. The last one took 4 days to put out!

Not my pic... 30 mins ago

Careful of the potholes north of Fort Bill, absolutely lethal after the snow. Still incredible up there though!

That's admittedly a cracking photo of the last fire at night, how long ago was that?

Slightly off topic, but we were horrified by the amount of litter we spotted when we stopped, looks like folks actually walk past the bin to dump stuff over the fence, one layby we stopped at, it looked like somone had dumped the whole week's empty wine and beer bottles down the edge...shockingfurious
