As for fuel... I always put in Super, but the monaro isn't fussy, its a big lazy v8, It will get what's about
Cheers for the tip ill download the maps now
Ill do some route updates over the next couple of days and add on here
Slight upset is I booked zipworld for 4pm, but due to lack of bookings they've moved us to 2.30 which means more direct route there, then some exploring around Snowdon after.
These maps are there to follow, but also while there we see something we want to go look at or a road we want to drive.
As for range,, being good 250 ish miles the monaro has an incredibly small tank for what it is at 60L, it can glug through it pretty dang fast, depending how I drive.
But its a road trip with my daughter to enjoy the roads and scenery so no mad driving etc, just a good ol road trip with the odd blat where it calls for it

Id suggest a couple of additions to your first map
When you first go up to the A465, take the B4560 from Garnlydan to Llangynidr. Work up from there to Brecon on the main road then back down the way you already have planned in, so from Brecon take A470 south and peel off right onto the A4059 towards Penderyn.
You could head further south from here rather than west straight away and go over Rhigos Mountain and Bwlch mountain. Head west from Bwlch viewpoint towards Neath. You can then go back up the A465 to your original route at Glynneath. (super unleaded available at a couple of places there).
After Black Mountain Pass take a right at Port-ar-Ilechau to Trecastle. Left onto A40 then right onto the Military road from Llywel to Tirabad.
Then join back onto your route and head up the Devil's staircase as planned. Once up and over the hill for that you will come to a fork in the road, you are currently heading right to Tregaron. Go left, brown sign for Llyn Brianne and head along the edge of the reservoir to the dam at the far end. This is IMO the best road in Wales, you are going right there you don't want to miss it! Then turn around and do it again and head the planned way to Tregaron (this road gets a bit tight and gnarly towards Tregaron so just take it easy).
Last modification id make is instead of going straight on at Tregaron, go right onto the B4343 and follow this all the way up to Devil's Bridge. then head over to Aberyst.
Then right up north since you are going 99% of the way there go on up to Llandudno and head around Great Orme, the road around it is good and the view from the top car park pretty good.

Cool enjoy!
I’ll be on a couple of the early ones myself on Friday.
I'm starting Saturday.. I’ll be on a couple of the early ones myself on Friday.
Here I think is the final map, which will stay, only thing i may not do the loop on the Monday due to needing to be at zipworld for 2.15, so will depend what time we leave in the morning
Saturday (via caffeine and machine)
Sunday part1
Sunday Part 2
Monday Part 1 to zipworld, we may not do the loop
Part 2
And home, inc a stop at another zip world and maybe cadburys world
there is a sweepstake (if you will) to win a pat on the back, who gets closest to the MPG the monaro will achieve

22 mpg. Very good indeed. These old Monaro are actually very fuel efficient really when you consider the displacement and old school tech.
You must try harder next time to achieve an average of 15!
It helped on motorway sitting at 1500rpm ish at 70You must try harder next time to achieve an average of 15!
Can easily get it sit at single figures

Glad you liked it should be back there myself in a couple of weeks. I see in your main thread you took pics in some of the same spots as me.
Good work on the economy. I based my guess on having done a similar trip in an E63 AMG and averaging 18.something and added a little thinking you had a fair bit of gentle cruising before and after my start point.
Looks like you had decent weather.
